Decent location in Vineyard Haven 4 min walk to ArtCliff dinner & on #13 bus line. Above store with eclectic mix of junk and treasure. Owner not on property during our stay but may sleep in the appt (seperate area but still). Great sun porch and deck . Overall nice stay.

  • Great Vineyard views

    4/5

Pros: This apartment is located within walking distance to the Vineyard Haven ferry and downtown, and is great for those who like to walk, or are traveling without a car. Really close to good restaurants, cafes and walking beaches. Very easy to get to all sides of the Island - and sort of a central point between the crowds and activity of Oak Bluffs, and the serenity and natural landscape of West Tisbury & Menemsha. Views out most of the windows are absolutely beautiful, offering Lagoon Pond on one side, the bay and sailboats on the other. Great, large porch on the pond side with a grill, seating, and umbrella shade to lounge on, as well as direct pondside seating and access. All beds are reasonably comfortable, though the two King beds are thinner foam bedding so may not be great for anyone needing more back support. Apartment is clean and very well stocked with all supplies needed for long-term stays, though keep in mind there's no washer/dryer. Cons: The apartment is on the main road between Vineyard Haven & Oak Bluffs, so be advised it's very noisy & traffic can be heard indoors from around 7:30/8AM until 10PM or later. A fan or white noise machine helps to sleep. The owners live directly downstairs, and the antique shop parking lot is just below the apartment, so if you're looking for privacy or solitude, or like taking breaks from the sun and humanity to relax at your rental, this apartment doesn't offer that. Noise travels from the below unit, you'll hear the doorbell of the shop going off when customers enter, and you can expect to have a daily communal experience with the owners and their customers.Overall, a nice stay, and a good value.

  • Almost Paradise!

    5/5

The apartment space of living room & kitchen is tidy and adorable. The sunroom attached to it is like a second living room and then there is the Widows walk bedroom which is directly above the other bedroom and both are roomy and the widows walk unique. It’s situated so the harbor is in front, and the lagoon is in the backyard. It’s a short walk into Vineyard Haven where one one of the ferries comes in and there are shops and the grocery store. If you don’t feel like walking, one of the shops is right below and features antiques, and uniques. The beaches start in an also walkable distance in the opposite direction from the village. It’s a very enjoyable property in a great location.
