• Not as Expected and No Follow up

  This is a very old house that has been updated in one bathroom, fridge, and washer. The furniture and rugs are dingy. I arrived to dirty dishes in the dishwasher, curtains off the windows, no trash bags, no paper towels, no extra pillowcases, very old towels. A small tray of bugs in a kitchen cabinet! I messaged the portal and the homeowner replied several hours later. She basically said "that was supposed to be done, trash bags are in the cabinet, etc." but those things had not been done. Asked me if I collected the bugs outside- then told me it may be a sticky mouse trap! After explaining and sending her photos, she said I have to email the Evolve app. Which I did 3 days ago- with no reply or follow up. So now I am leaving a mediocre review. I would not recommend this house for small children- the banister on the stairs is very loose. There are very few outlets. It served its purpose as a place to sleep, but I would not stay there again.

  Cleanliness & Supplies: Our cleaning team runs the dishwasher at the end of each visit to ensure cleanliness, and comforters are washed between every guest. It seems there were some oversights during your stay, and I apologize for the inconvenience. We will work closely with our cleaning team to ensure that all supplies are fully stocked and any missed items, such as the trash bags and paper towels, are addressed moving forward.
  
  Pests: The property is treated regularly for pests, but being a historic home, occasional occurrences can happen. I apologize for the confusion regarding the tray, and we will take steps to prevent this from happening again.
  
  Communication: I strive to respond promptly and assist with any concerns during a guest's stay. I'm sorry to hear there was a delay and that your experience with follow-up was unsatisfactory. I’ll be reviewing the process with Evolve to ensure future guests receive timely responses.
  
  Safety & Amenities: The house is over 100 years old, which gives it character, but I understand that some aspects, like the banister and outlets, might not meet modern expectations. We will inspect the banister and make any necessary repairs to ensure safety.

• Wonderful location for family vacation

  We loved this historic home. It has an authentic New England feel. Our favorite feature was the large side porch overlooking the yard. There was always a cool breeze there. We walked frequently to nearby neighborhood beach -only 1/4 mile away. We appreciated the comfortable beds after our busy days. The open floor plan in the living and dinning areas worked well for our family of seven. The owners responded quickly when we needed help. They were flexible about our check out time because we were attending an event at the Maritime Academy.
