Very clean, and peaceful get away. This was my second time staying here. The only thing that I do not like about the place is the over grown weeds on either side of the property. Other than that, this is the absolute ideal spot to get away from it all.

Don't recommend / left a night early / lost that night's money

We pulled in to weeds. Got inside to a clean pleasant inside to realize that the thermostat was set at 72 and locked. The room with the thermostat was cool but the rest of the house felt 80. We all slept horrible because we were sweaty. I was sweaty trying to get ready. Then the 2nd night the big bed me and my husband shared the slats fell. They wouldn't stay in place so we had to sleep on a hideaway. Our whole bodies ache. Also the washer didn't work! So bad we left a night early. I told the owners and they said thanks fir future reference but never offered us anything.

Hi Rita, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. After speaking with the homeowner they asked us to provide a little more context to the situation you experienced:
- We wish you had reached out to the Guest Contact during your stay to address any issues you were experiencing. We would have done everything we could to resolve them immediately so that you could enjoy the home.
- We do have weeds on our property - it is in a dune/forested area. We use local, professional photographers to make sure that the listing photos correctly reflect the property and that guests know what to expect.
- We keep the thermostat set and locked to a comfortable setting to avoid the A/C unit running constantly. We would have been happy to adjust it if you had reached out.
- The slats had fallen out of the queen bed. We have resituated the slats, and screwed the slats into the bedframe, they had previously been held in by grooves and pins.
- Our housekeeper did report an error code on the washer, which we also let the guest know via text before check-in. The error code has been resolved and the washer is fully operational.
We do all we can to make our homes the best possible stays, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. Thank you for your feedback

Secret Oasis in Gary ??

My stay was amazing at this property. When me and my fiancé first arrived , we were coming from out of town so not very familiar with the area. I must say our expectations were low because of the drive in , you don’t really see a lot going on within the town. But once we got to the home we instantly felt like we were on a resort in a cute little beach town. The house was clean from head to toe. The back patio was the highlight of the trip. It’s some beautiful lighting the host had back there so you could step out any time of the day or night and still have the same cute environment. The house features truly two living room areas, so if you come with family it’s enough space to be together but separated if need be. The kitchen was huge!!!! Featuring so many cabinets for your own personal items to go into if you plan on cooking or hosting a dinner. It was skylight windows featured throughout the house that looked so romantic when it rain or when the sun came up or went down . Which was crazy because this trip was a combination of Mother’s Day, my first vacay as a new mother, my first vacay with my fiancé after the baby, my birthday, and anniversary lol . So this home gave family vibes when needed . It gave romantic vibes when needed && most importantly it’s so close to the beach that it feels like you’re in Cali or Florida however you’re in Gary , IN . Who knew Gary had the heat ? We will 100% be back we are already planning
