We had a nice time during our visit - the cottage has everything you'd expect/need in a vacation rental house. Location is good - pretty quiet neighborhood overall. ~2mi/10min drive to the beaches and/or the pier (with shops/restaurants/etc). Everything is close (it's a pretty small island, after all). There's a doggie door, and I didn't see a way to latch/lock it closed - my toddlers thought that was great, but it meant we were constantly retrieving them from the front (screened) porch, lol... depending on your pet, this may be a plus for you though? The bunk bedroom doesn't get a lot of A/C airflow. Even after fixing the pull-cord on the overhead fan so we could operate it without the light on, it still stayed on the warm side when the door was closed. It does have central air, but I suspect the ducting/distribution may be a little sub-par, because of the warmer bedroom mentioned above, and because of the presence of 2 mini-split systems: a larger one in the living/dining room, and a smaller one in the back bedroom. At any rate, other than that one bedroom, it wasn't hard to get the house comfortable and cool, even during the very hot July 2023 temps. The bathroom is pretty small, but it was fine for us. I'd agree with a previous review that it would probably be pretty tight if you maxed out the house with 8 people.Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this cottage on SSI. Thanks for a great vacation!

From the owner: "Thank you for the review. Glad to hear you enjoyed the stay. St. Simon is a wonderful place to visit. We have been addressing the dispersement of a/c but I was not aware the bunk room room was having issues so I appreciate the information. Additionally, I believe someone may have hidden away the cover for the doggy door. While the access does sound found for little ones will certainly address that as safety and relaxation is a priority. Thank you again for bringing these concerns to our attention so we may address them. We hope to see you again."
This cottage has everything you need, board games, books for rainy days. Nice porch for morning or afternoon. Screened in porch for staying out of the weather. There was an abundance of beach towels for guests. Short distance to restaurants and beach. We will be back. We loved it there, it felt like home. The pictures do not do it justice. Very cute relaxing place.

We loved our stay at the cottage . Was conveniently located to everything we needed. The cottage was simple and beautiful and a cozy place to sit on porch and drink coffee in morning and at night on back deck grilling... we sat by fire one night in back yard and made smores and let kids do sparklers .. I will for sure be back

Such a nice place to stay. Close to restaurants and beach. Has everything you may need for a beach stay. Books and board games for rainy days. Fire pit for evenings. Fenced in yard for the puppies. Pictures do not do this place justice. It's larger than the pictures look. Enjoyed it very much and hope to return soon.
