Well appointed cabin with comfortable bed and nicely equipped. Some quirks; the shower is sunken a out 2 feet below floor and requires a large step down. The stairs to floor two with the bedroom are not standard height. Caution: we did not see any smoke alarms. Porches are inviting. Very scenic views. Very nice stay.

The pond is the most relaxing view! We watched dragonflies and even saw deer. The cabin has a nice large comfortable bed, and a cozy living area. The kitchen is well stocked. I only gave four stars due to the very odd shower, narrow stairs, dust, cobwebs, and the two spiders we killed. One odd things are the blocks of styrofoam that are in the back yard. They look like rocks and concrete slabs.
Even though it rained and had a storm with 60 mph winds we enjoyed our stay!

From the owner: "Thank you for braving the storm and staying with us at Shady Pines."
The location was amazing and the cabin had everything you would need for a great mountain escape to the Blue Ridge area. The pond was a bonus. The host was very nice and available at anytime.
