  • Very Happy!

    5/5

This house is huge! The bedrooms and sitting areas are plentiful and are well spread out. We had 16 family members staying there and everyone loved the house and having plenty of room. The dock is amazing and we enjoyed relaxing there in the afternoon/evening.

When we arrived we realized the downstairs lakeside bedroom had no window covering and within 2 hours Melinda had that taken care of. We were very impressed!

The balcony and bottom patio are nice, with lots of seating. The firepit, surrounded by chairs was also a great bonus.

If you have lots of folks and want a great place to stay on the lake, this is it!!

  • Great with some minor issues (3.5 stars)

    4/5

We loved all the space available for our large Thanksgiving gathering. Plenty of room for everyone to spend time together or spend time alone. The smaller kids loved all the stairs, and running themselved exhausted while playing hide and seek. Lots of comfy sofas for the grownups to catch up with relatives not seen in a while. The biggest issue comes from the remodel that happened just before we arrived. We were expecting that second kitchen...it was taken out during the remodel. So, the main kitchen was used in shifts and was "cozy" during the Thanksgiving meal prep. A minor issue but it takes away a star since we didn't know it ahead of time. Then again, we didn't know about the remodel (and the reason) ahead of time either.

Other issues, all minor but still there and taking away stars: The grill was very dirty and when we fired it up to burn off all the gunk it caused lots of smoke that blackened the cobwebs into halloween decor. The rack for the pool table should be replaced - it's cracked. A lot of the light switches are marked as to what they work, but others need to be updated. It would be very nice if check in was sooner than 4pm so that visitors know what else they have to go and buy for their stay (such as toilet paper and paper towels.) For safety reason, the knives should be sharpened; dull knives are more dangerous than sharp ones. Although we didn't use the dock for any kind of water activities, we did go down there. It could use a maintenance check.

Overall, it is a very nice place to stay for large parties!

    Manager's Response:

From the owner: “I’m glad to hear you had a great family Thanksgiving! Between the time you booked the house and the date of your actual stay, there was water leak which resulted in a major remodel of the main level and basement. As part of that, we decided to remove the second kitchen in the basement, which was rarely used, and replace it with a large living area with a 75” TV and games. I apologize for the timing of this change since you rented the house expecting the second kitchen to help with your Thanksgiving meal prep. We have taken care of the other minor issues you pointed out. The grill is a big Weber grill that needs to be taken apart and pressure washed occasionally and this has been done since your stay. I had not noticed the pool table rack being cracked but it has now been replaced. We leave enough supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, coffee, laundry detergent) to get you started, but I would suggest bringing enough with you to get through your stay. The dock gets regular maintenance and currently has no issues. Thanks again for choosing to spend your family holiday at the house and for the feedback!"

  • Great Lake Sinclair House

    5/5

We had a family get together with ages from 6 to 66 and it was great for everyone. Plenty of bedrooms spread out over the house. Loved the dock with part being covered and open, the swings and chairs and the TV and sound system were an added bonus. Great location for grocery and restaurants as well.
