We enjoyed our stay. We always have a good time boating and fishing. We did not use the house for anything other than cooking and sleeping. We stayed on the lake which was awesome. We are familiar with the area and the location was exactly what we expected. The decor was cluttered and overwhelming. The pictures were accurate lots of clutter. If you drink, the bar was fully stocked. There was stuff everywhere which made it hard to use the counter space. This property would be ideal for a boys trip but not idea for families with young children. The property needed to be cleaned. When we arrived the floors were dirty. The sheets were not clean. The dishes were greasy and pots were worn out. The yard needed to be cleaned. We opted to cook indoors because the gas grill was as counter top which was set up next to a wheelbarrow full of pine straw. We did not find enough charcoal to start the other grill. We enjoyed the boat dock. It needed a little TLC but we loved hanging out until late. The lake is what it is all about. The view was amazing.FYI- If you are traveling with an RV or boat trailer make sure you inquire on the details. Our 22ft boat trailer was a tight squeeze with low hanging limbs. The boat ramp is a short 5-8 minute drive.

Hi Heather, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- Although we understand that everyone has different tastes and styles, we're sorry to hear that the cabin's decoration didn't align with your personal preferences.
- Rest assured that the home undergoes a thorough cleaning before each guest's arrival. Our cleaners even mopped the floors while we were present to ensure everything was in top shape for your stay.
- Regarding the bedding, we want to assure you that the sheets are always cleaned before and after each guest's visit. Your comfort and satisfaction are important to us.
- We have new dishes and pots for our guests to use.
- We apologize if the wheelbarrow next to the grill posed an inconvenience during your visit. There is also an additional charcoal grill available.
- To clarify, there were indeed two full bags of charcoal available for your use during your stay, which you were able to use.
- In terms of communication, we want to ensure that our guests receive all the necessary information. The house rules, along with directions and instructions, were sent to your husband's email address one week prior to your arrival. Additionally, we also sent a text message the day before your check-in with the same information.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We genuinely value our guests' feedback.
Heard noises from the storage basement and went down found the owner sleeping on a sofa in the basement. Had been upstairs while we we sleeping very disturbing. Seemed like a nice enough person but very inappropriate and scary for my wife

Mark, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we’re so sorry that your safety was called into question. Providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all of our guests is at the forefront of our mission. We've confirmed we do state within the pre-stay email sent to guests prior to arrival, 'Owner may frequent Basement apartment which is off limits to guests and is rarely there and rarely seen unless getting his mail'. The owner also sends out a welcome letter to all guests before their stay to state the lower level is not accessible to guests and to please respect the privacy of the homeowner. Guests must read through the welcome letter in full as it contains additional information about the home and surrounding area. We sincerely apologize this was not advertised on the listing level and we have since updated the listing to ensure this issue does not recur for future travelers. We do hope the partial refund granted helped make up for the inconvenience you felt, and apologize again for the difficulties you faced.
We just wanted to spend a few days alone for our Anniversary. Hoped to do a little fishing but Mother Nature had other plans. He had Champagne waiting for us and it was nice to unwind a bit. Located in a good location as you are away from things but close enough to go to out to dinner. It was very nicely decorated and he makes sure you have everything you need. Plenty of room and comfortable!
