  • RELAXCATION

    The road driving to and from the boat house was awesome!! I can not begin to tell you how fascinated we were to see the variety of animals that popped up along the way, not to mention to have seen them in Florida. The river house was beautiful, clean and so, so comfortable. The porch with the view was just so amazing. You seemed to get lost in the day as well as loosing track of time, without a care either way. The private dock was absolutely awesome! We had rented a skiff for a few days and then a pontoon. It worked out great, very easy access, and had bouys that were already in place. The covered dock was a very nice area to hang out as well! Nice breeze in the evenings, had a grill, outdoor bar, fish cleaning station, ceiling fans and lights for added decor. NICE!!!!! So many things you can do in Steinhatchee and so many good places to eat. Heming’s Way coffee and Tacos ROCK!!! All in all, I highly recommend the boathouse retreat!! Beautiful, clean, and private!!! The owner was extremely exceptional and so kind. Went out of his way to make our stay comfy and to let us know if anything was needed he was there for us!!! We will definitely be back!!!!!!!! One more thing - this town is all about the GOLF CART!!!! Rent one - it was a blast!!!!!!!! I loved it!!! Filomena, Seth, Hannah, Nick, and Gracie

  • By far the best home in Steinhatchee

    This is our 2nd year staying at The Boathouse Retreat when it first became available for rent, we were elated with our first stay so we did not hesitate to rebook. However it was a nice surprise to see how the owners have only continued to improve the property when it was in our opinion already perfect! The new outdoor kitchen area was our favorite spot. We feel this location is perfect having both privacy but being central enough to take our golf cart to town. For a family especially with children who like their space (mine loved playing under the house, riding their scooters, and fishing) this property is unmatched. Lastly the dock was more than ample for our 39ft contender. I wouldn’t hesitate to highly suggest this property!

    The Boathouse Retreat provided a wonderful relaxing atmosphere with the best dock and yard set up. Weather kept us from being able to enjoy all the amenities, we would stay there again.

    This rental has even more than advertized. We were surprised to find everything advertised even better. The house was clean and updated. Great vacation.All in our family would like to come back. Ray was a great host. Very easy to work with.

  • Grateful Destination

    Made the house my Destination. Looking for a peaceful place to celebrate my 60 birthday. Wanted a quiet and serene location. Made this place the choice for it's location.Clean, well supplied with all the creature comforts of home. Well cared for, just about new everything. Excellent location with plenty of privacy. Wife and friends really enjoyed the place. Used the grill outdoors to cook. Made for a wonderful night outdoors. Has a dock for my boat. Sunsets were beautiful. Really made an impression on friends due to our compitition on finding places every year. Best rental I have made in past 7 years. If you want peace n quiet, wonderful nights with your loved ones.....this is it. Every aspect of this place will make you not regret it. Owners are also super nice, and filled with useful information regarding the fishing spots and local surroundings. The fact they had a dock made it a win-win for me. Dropped my boat at the public ramp 2 miles down the road and just tied it to the dock for 2 nights.Gates and large fence add to the security. Purely isolated heaven.Actuall watched a boat sink overnight from a bad storm directly across from our dock then followed by rescue crew the next morning. Made for a fun cup of coffee on the deck.Oh.....theres a nook where water comes out of a stream on the propoerty. We were treated to 2 manetees lounging in the area for hours.Don't hesitate or think twice about this place. Do it!
