• A decent stay

  I have a family of 5 children. We’ve been coming to PCB for the past 4 or so years. We have previously stayed at the Splash Resort and Majestic Beach towers. This was our first stay at the Shores of Panama. Pros- you’re directly across the street from Walmart and next door to the Wharf and Pineapple Willy’s. The resort itself is in mediocre shape. It appeared they were making improvements while we were there. The pool and deck are huge so even if it’s crowded there were always places to sit and empty areas of the pool to swim in. Our condo was on the 17th floor and we were pleasantly surprised by how fast the elevators were going both up and down. The ocean/beach view was spot on. I don’t believe there’s a bad view in the resort. Cons-Our parking spot was located on the 12th floor. Unless you drive like a maniac, it will take you 7 mins to get down to the bottom level assuming you don’t have traffic in the garage. This is no fault of the resort or owners, but the swimming pool was very chilly. I grew up in Central Fl with a pool and went swimming year round in a non-heated pool. I don’t recall the water being so cold. Maybe I’m old, or it could be from the recent rain due to hurricane Helene. The ocean wasn’t crystal clear and beautiful like we’re used to seeing. Again, likely hurricane related. Thankfully, it was only red flag one or two days and the rest were yellow. When we visited during Spring Break it was double red everyday except our last and that was still a red flag so having calmer water although not crystal clear was nice for the kids to enjoy being in the ocean. The condo needs updating. The decor and furniture is beautiful but there are holes and cracks in the walls and ceiling. I found a wad of hair in my bed the first night pulling the sheets down so I washed the sheets before I could even go to bed. The washing machine is a front loader and I know they harbor mold. The stench was so bad upon opening that I ran an empty load first to try and clean it out some. I left the washing machine door opened the entire time we were there to try and help dry out the wet parts that were moldy but it just made the hallway and kitchen smell bad. The kitchen counter top had a huge crack and was held up by some strange mechanism. I wouldn’t let the kids set anything on it for fear it may fall. The kitchen cabinet doors were peeling and would get caught on one another when opening and closing. Overall nothing terrible but we likely won’t stay here again.

  The condo was very nice and clean with a great location. Unfortunately, after our group went out for the night we came back to the condo and was locked out due to our keypad lock being bad. No one on site was able to help us get in, after speaking to Vrbo representatives they were unable to get us in contact with the property manager. The only advise they had was for us to find somewhere else to stay for the night since it was so late and they would try to get ahold of the manager by morning. Our car keys were inside the room, along with all of our personal belongings so that was realistic. I ended up having to call a local lock smith to come and get us into our room at my expense. Vrbo did eventually get in touch with the property manager the following morning and she sent someone to fix it. I did get reimbursed what I paid the locksmith a week or so later. It was just very inconvenient and aggravating. There should be some kind of access key in case of emergencies on site in my opinion.

  Overall it was a really great stay. Room wasn’t exactly clean when we got there but wasn’t too bad. Beach front was amazing, the pool was great, and staff always helpful. Every thing was kid friendly which was great for us as we had 4 children with us.

• Wouldn’t book again but it was okay

  So we read the reviews before booking and knew there would be a few problems and were ready going in. The showers were moldy, the comforters and pillows were stained, and there were many little problems around the condo. However, the kitchen was actually fully stocked with cooking supplies and silverware (contrary to what another review said). We also were not given toilet paper or soap for one of the bathrooms. The view was amazing but almost all of the patio furniture was either rusted out or broken. The elevators around check in time are very slow but manageable if you get in on the ground floor. Also, the washer did not work at all but the dryer did. The A/C worked great though! Overall, we wouldn’t book this place again but it was nice having 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. If you have other options in your price range, I suggest staying there but it really wasn’t bad.

  We enjoyed our stay here. Steps from our he beach with a nice pool area. The condo was not cleaned well when we arrived. We had to wash/change sheets and throw away trash from under beds. Overall, the unit could use some upkeep. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the waves.
