I was disappointed with my stay, as I was not promised what was advertised in the listing.
The night that I checked-in, there was leftover food left in the fridge along with spilled food and there was an excessive amount of pet(?) hair on the sofa and bedding. There were also stains on the comforter. There were a pair of socks left on the coffee table, along with stains on the table. I spent over an hour cleaning up myself and purchased sheets to put on top of the sofa and bed so I could actually use them during my stay. Overall, the place looked a junky and not thoroughly cleaned in between guests -- not what was advertised in the photos online.
The following morning I went to take a shower, and noticed that the water pressure was too low to use, unless I turned the knob all the way to the left, which was the hottest setting. Normally one does not complain about having hot water, but this setting was so hot that my skin was bright red and felt like I had a sunburn. When I tried to turn the knob right for cooler water, the shower turned off completely.
Additionally, in the original listing I saw online, there was mention of (and pictures) of a small office desk on the wall to the right of the sofa. However, when I arrived, I only saw a picture hanging in this spot -- no desk. I booked this particular listing specifically because this was a work trip that required me to be remote at times. Not having a desk was disappointing and made it difficult to set myself up for work.
I brought these items to the attention of the host, who apologized and offered that he would have sent someone out to clean, however, I was only staying for a couple of days so the hassle wouldn't have been worth it. My main concern is awareness so that this can be fixed.
It was a great city with amazing restaurants. The weather was amazing…The space was modern & chic. I definitely recommend it…Till next time D.C.
