We stayed 3 nights in June. The house is a little hard to find, based on the directions. Upon arrival I wasn’t thrilled about the upkeep. The grass and weeds were way over grown. When we entered the house it stunk, bad. The trash cans were all full and clearly had been there a while. We set them outside, opened the windows and called the contact # provided in the email. The contact said there was nothing he could do, he lived 45 min away and trash didn’t have pick up until Thursday (it was Monday). We called the property manager and they also said that there was nothing they could do AND the trash has to stay in the house or garage because of bears. I was extremely not happy. The house it’s self was ok. It was clean and well stocked except for wash clothes , which are not sold anywhere in town (we looked). There is no AC, which I didn’t realize and makes the days in June a little uncomfortable. The back porch view, which is featured in the listing is definitely deceiving. The Mountain View is beautiful but what you can’t tell from the picture is that you are also staring at a bunch of crappy cars, houses, and junk next door. Just an FYI. My family of 8 adults stayed and enjoyed touring Ouray. It is a fun, quaint, expensive town. The house also had a plumbing leak from the upstairs shower that flooded the basement floor, which we were left to deal with. They did provide a small refund for the inconvenience.

Hi Sarah, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following:
- We now have a Tahoe Bear Box that contains the trash bins, so guests don't have to put out the trash bin on Thursday mornings. Now the trash collectors can empty the trash every week. We are hoping that this will be a good solution to the trash problem.
- Unfortunately, although we work hard to provide a great environment for all guests, external factors like the view of the neighbor's homes are simply out of our control. We go above and beyond to provide a comfortable experience for our guests, and we're sorry that outside circumstances changed that.
- Although we do our best to keep the outdoor area clean, if there are a few days between guest check-out and the next check-in, it is certainly possible for Mother Nature to affect the outdoor area once our cleaning crew has left.
- While we’re sorry our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to share that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend. Thank you for sharing your review. Your feedback assists us in understanding our guests' perspectives and improving wherever possible.
The house was very nice and large enough for nine adults and a baby. We had a couple of issues the first night. I called and left message for property manager and never received a call back. Plus, there wasn't enough toliet paper for our large parry. But all in all very enjoyable stay!

I really liked this property; especially the great room. Very nice fall retreat space.

We are a group of women who travel to short-term rentals often. Frankly, this was the most awkward (read: disappointing). We walked in on a rainy fall night to a house that was 62 degrees, and the thermostat would not go up again until 8:30 am., and then only to 68. We all looked for more blankets but there was not even one extra. The "welcome book" was just as cold; every page felt like the owner was ready to string us up if we so much as thought we might want more than one extra towel ("Wash your own," it said. But there was no detergent._) It even suggested we might be "short-term rental hucksters" and said they had a time stamped video of the rooms before we arrived to hold us accountable if we had missed a rule (10 pages of rules with sarcastic comments on many of them). We do understand; the owners obviously have had problem guests/partiers and are trying to avoid more problems, but we did feel unwelcome in many ways. No extras like soap for the showers, for example. We hate to give a bad review. But we felt we had to. Clean house/cold welcome.

Hi Terrie and crew, we’re sorry to hear your stay did not meet your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- The thermostat in the home is a Nest so the exterior is very touch-sensitive. Our property manager was able to show you how to work this but it is possible that "hold temperature" was not selected, which would have caused the thermostat to revert back to "Eco mode" overnight.
- The home is stocked with plenty of extra blankets and linens but we are so sorry to hear that you were cold during the first night of your stay.
- We are in the process of updating the welcome book and apologize that you did not feel as welcome as possible during your stay.
We appreciate your valuable feedback as we continue to improve for future guests!
