We loved this little house! It was so cute and cozy and had everything we needed. Just a quick little walk into town where you can find lots of restaurants and shops. Parking is easy too. A hidden gem for sure!

  • Enjoyed the house, but...

    4/5

This house is delightful. The living room/kitchen is pleasant and roomy enough even though the house is small. There is a thoughtful and useful variety of utensils and supplies. The decoration throughout is well done. Apparently this house was remodeled ?-years ago and the ceiling was raised to a very nice vaulted ceiling with a rear facing window with mountain view above the bedroom door. Very nice. Even has a remotely controlled shade! The bathroom is very modern and nicely decorated. Internet access was good. It is within a 15 minute walk to shops and restaurants on the main street. The local agent was very responsive to phone calls and was very helpful.

Only the following kept this from receiving a 5-star rating:

The bedroom is so small that one side of the queen bed is hard against the wall, requiring the occupant of that side to slide down to the foot or climb over the other occupant if he or she must get up during the night.

There is very little storage. The 3-drawer dresser in the bedroom looks nice, but the drawers are very shallow. We had to live out of suitcases we propped open on stools in the living room. There is really no full-length hanging closet. The small one in the bedroom was filled with a tiny drawer unit and extra bedding and pillows.

The television only has streaming service and we were not able to get live evening news from ABC, NBC or CBS - a major drawback for us.

We used the washer/dryer, but it is noisy and although it washes well, it's not very efficient at drying, only drying half what it will wash.

There is no dishwasher, even though the home instruction sheet admonishes the renter to run the dishwasher to clean dishes when checking out.

On street parking in front is limited by a fire hydrant, giving us just barely enough space to park between the restricted space and the next car down the street.

In spite of all that, we really DID enjoy the place!

This quaint cottage had all the features we needed for a comfortable visit. The well equipped kitchen made it easy to make home cooked meals. The decor is warm and inviting. We loved the vintage artistic style only with modern materials. This home is a quick walk down to the main street area of Manitou Springs. We rented a car but only needed it for further destinations. Free street parking was convenient right outside the cottage. It was listed as a one bedroom but the accommodating owner had a high quality blow up mattress for our daughter to stay with us. Everything seemed brand new! All the details were thought of when designing this charming old home. It has the old home character of sloping floors and classic details. The craftsmanship of this home was executed very well to utilize as much space as possible fit all the comfort needs in. If we had any questions about our stay they were answered very quickly! We will definitely stay again if we make another trip to Manitou Springs!

  • Perfect get-a-way cottage

    5/5

We enjoyed staying in this cottage and walking downtown in the evenings. It was close to several must see sights such as Garden of the gods, and Cave of the Winds.

The cottage was decorated beautifully, and a refreshing stop on our summer vacation.
