The house is incredible, the views are stunning, and we had an overall great stay. Just be aware of a few items before you go. There are a number of house rules including restrictions on where you can eat, no shoes in the house, conserving water, etc. There is no AC in the house and if you want to open the windows to cool off at night there are only a few windows with screens so bugs can be a big issue. If you want to use the futon, bring your own blankets and pillows because none are provided. Bring a way to make coffee because they have an espresso machine but no tools to actually use it. You need 4 wheel drive to get up to the property.
In general our stay was great and the house was awesome, we just would have liked to know these items up front. They aren't deal breakers for us, but future guests should know.

Hi Edgar, we're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the stunning views and had an overall great stay! We appreciate your feedback and followed up with the homeowner, who wanted to share the following:
-The need for four-wheel drive, water conservation, and the absence of A/C are noted in the property listing to help guests prepare for their stay.
-We provide a heavy comforter for the futon, but we recommend bringing extra blankets and pillows if you prefer additional bedding.
-The limited number of window screens is to help manage the strong mountain winds, and we understand this may impact your comfort when cooling the home.
-The kitchen, dining room, and outdoor seating areas are designated eating spaces to help minimize the risk of attracting rodents, which is a common issue in mountain homes.
Thanks again for sharing your experience, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again soon!
We had an amazing time. The house was beautiful, and big. The view was spectacular, and the location was perfect.
There are a couple of things we wish we had known before renting, however. There are a lot of rules, and when we arrived there were signs throughout the house outlining the rules. The biggest problem was the water. "Conserve water. Very limited." The house is not hooked up to city water and it uses a cistern. We really had no idea throughout the trip how much water we had. We did call the manager, who advised us to take short showers and not use the washing machine or the dish washer. They should let renters know this up front. We were advised that if the water ran dry, we'd have to pay for a new pump.
This was an inconvenience throughout because we were always concerned about where the water level was and had no way to know.
Overall, we all agreed the house was wonderful, aside for these points. The manager was responsive and the process was easy.

Owner's response: "Traci, We want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us. We appreciate you mentioning that you had an amazing time and thought our home was big and beautiful, with spectacular views and a perfect location.
- We do have signs up about the water because it is very important to us. We spoke about the water conservation but I don't recall saying anything about not using the washer or dishwasher, they are available for use by all of our guests. You would have had enough water for all of your day-to-day needs. When you asked about the pump we did tell you not to worry about that. We only ask that you understand our point on water conservation and be cognizant and mindful
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. We will continue to strive for the 5-star experiences we know we can deliver."
We enjoyed a relaxing weekend getaway with the family. House easily sleeps 10, has a spacious kitchen to prepare meals, and has space for family games and bonding.
