What a wonderful way to spend Christmas with my new grandson and family! The Victorian was perfect and we loved our stay. It was very well stocked and we had cooking items for everything we needed. It was even decorated for Christmas! It was a Christmas to remember! Loved it!

  • House was great but location was LOUD!

    3/5

Pros: House is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping; plenty of activities nearby; house was very clean and well decorated; beds comfortable Cons: No a/c and it was HOT at night with no fans; house is older and creaks really loud when walking; street out front is LOUD-people fly down it at all hours of the night; bathtubs/showers aren't practical as they have nowhere to put shampoo or other necessities; lots of antique decor so not great for families with littlesOverall we enjoyed our stay but there needs to be some little changes before I'd stay again. Sleeping and showering were the biggest issues.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Nicole, we are so glad that you enjoyed the town and all of the great activities and stores. The owner wanted to let you know about some feedback regarding your concerns:
    - This is an older, historic home, originally built in 1894. We remodeled it entirely when we bought it. We kept the real wood floor because it adds so much appeal to the home, and we love how the clawfoot tubs add to the antique vibe.
    - This year’s heatwave is so rare in the mountains and we apologize for how this affected you. We have fans available upon request and we’re sorry that you didn’t reach out to us.
    - We haven’t noticed loud traffic but we apologize for the inconvenience. This summer travel season has been the busiest in history so perhaps there were more visitors than other times.
    - We have had many other guests with children and they haven’t broken anything valuable, We enjoy the Victorian decor as others have and we welcome children and even provide games for kids of all ages. We’re disappointed to hear that you couldn’t relax.
Despite some of your concerns, we would be delighted to have you back next year and bring your kids too!

My family stayed at the property for three nights while attending a wedding at Blackstone Rivers Ranch, only a few minutes away from the house. The house was well-kept and within a block or two from great restaurants and shops. We were there during unseasonably hot mid-June weather and the house could of used a fan or two, but otherwise cool enough once it cooled off at night. The house is as-described. Clean, comfortable, safe and the owner was exceptionally responsive with any questions. I would definitely stay here again!
