This was a wonderful place and gave all the home away from home feels. There was so many thoughtful things that were included. The price was perfect and the town was so small with the perfect little bakery. The only thing that was a down fall was the bedding all had hair on the sheets. I presume this was from a dog as was the same in all beds but not something you want to climb into bed too after a long 12 hour drive. Thankfully there was spare sheets and we changed the bedding.

We stayed in this wonderful little cabin in the mountains, it was so quiet and peaceful. We went up to the Lodge for dinner the first night and met some of the locals and they really made us feel welcomed. We also ate breakfast at the bakery and the food was great! The nice people who run it and the folks there having breakfast were all really friendly. Overall this was a great little vacation for us. We would definitely would stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone!
Thanks for the wonderful cabin.
Vickie and Steven Beaver.
The house was great and felt like a home away from home. There was so many thoughtful jesters. The only thing was that all the beds had black hair in the sheets when we arrived. I assume this was from dog hair. We did have extra clean sheets available and were able to change the sheets. Extra fans would have also been nice as it got pretty warm at certain parts of the day. The price was nice and the town was very peaceful. The bakery down the road was very good as well.
WOW!! I cannot give this any higher praise. This was far more than was advertised. The cabin was perfect. My autistic grandson and I take a Summer Vacation every summer and he said "Grandpa this was THE BEST". They even went so far as to provide what was needed so my grandson and I could cook out Smores. They had a grill in the front and a propane fire pit in back. We were able to grill our dinner and then sit by the fire to watch the stars. Brian at the local store was a perfect example of the townspeople in Guffey. He took extra time to actually carry on a conversation with my grandson and then told us some of the "local secret spots" on Black Mountain for my grandson to explore nature. Thanks for an AWESOME vacation. And as my grandon said - "This was the BEST".
