  Check in was easy and we received communication from the owner early on the day of arrival. We did not arrive at the house until 11p due to traveling. When we were settling in we noticed food and drinks on the kitchen counters, plus a dishwasher full of dirty dishes. We then observed that the bathrooms were unclean with dirty towels hanging and contents in the toilet bowl. We observed that the beds had unclean sheets on them and many personal items that belonged to someone else on the floor of the rooms. We attempted to contact the owner immediately with no success and learned that we were given only 1 contact number. We did some soul searching and found clean bedding in an unorganized cabinet...made the beds and got some rest. The next day we received no call back and called the ownner around 9a to learn that the housekeeper had car issues and was not going to be able to help our circumstance. The owner eventually said he would refund us and we still have not received a refund.

• Weekend away

• Perfect home base for our vacation

  My daughter and I took a road trip to Colorado. Although we didn't spend any time in the town here, this house was the perfect home base for our trip.

  Clean and comfortable, we looked forward to unwinding here after a long day of hiking and exploring. Instead of eating out, we used the kitchen to cook our dinners - everything was available and in perfect working order.

  The living room, bedrooms, and bathrooms were excactly as described. Bottom line: we looked forward to coming back here to unwind, relax and sleep after a hard day on the road.

• Mostly met expectations

  The host contacted us about 8 on the morning of check in, which we appreciated. But when we had questions about TV operation around 7 that night we could not get ahold of him. A TV upstairs had a vertical screen damage and we could not access any method for viewing any content. We texted, left phone messages and emailed with no responses for our whole 3 day stay. We would have liked to watch something as a family after our days of hiking. The disappointment was in not hearing back from the host.

  Otherwise, it was an older home with some updates, but older-home quirks. Some of the outlets didn’t work and there was old water damage on the dining room ceiling. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated having a quiet, private space to relax.

  We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the TV and the difficulty in reaching us during your stay. Unfortunately, I was undergoing surgery in another state on the day of your check-in, which limited my availability. I did try to communicate this as best as possible, and I apologize if this was not adequately conveyed. The changes in Netflix’s policy regarding multiple users have also complicated access for our guests, and we are working on a solution for easier viewing in the future.
  
  We acknowledge the issues with the older home, including the water damage in the dining room ceiling. These are on our list to address shortly and to make the necessary repairs.

• Nice, cozy, a bit rough around the edges

  3rd stay, we like being close to central city and blackhawk but still far away enough to feel remote and serene. House has all the basic needs, but could use a refurb all around. Heat takes hours to build up comfortable temp, living area is dated ie stiff queen anne chairs and a saggy old sofa. Keurig is nice but no k cups to use. Side door wont close. Little nuisance items that could easily turn the stone cottage into a more desireable home. Otherwise, it was another fun vacation.
