Uncomfortable
2/5 I found myself feeling quite uncomfortable when I arrived at the location. The basement is located down a dirt road and I felt secluded, even though I signed into the wI-fi, my phone calls kept getting dropped. I wish I had read the other reviews about no thermostat control, loud noise from the owners upstairs and no TV in the main area. I quickly found myself packing up and heading for a hotel so I could rest easy as it was already an exhausting trip before I had arrived. I asked for a refund and was denied even though I did not stay more than 2 hours.
Disappointed
2/5 Beautiful grounds and surrounding area, found out fast why there were ear plugs on the night stand. Sounds like the people upstairs are walking around with bricks on their feet, apparently quiet hours don't apply to upstairs. No climate control in downstairs, controls upstairs. The fire place doesn't work, not mentioned in ad only found out when you read the hospitality book. Would have been really mad if it was cold weather. No control for A/C, no tub, but that was what we wanted but should not be advertised.

- Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. We're sorry to hear the noise from upstairs disrupted your visit. The floors, unfortunately don't allow for much sound insulation between levels. We try to minimize our own noise when guests are present, but should look into options for reducing footstep transfer.
- Regarding climate controls, the lower level does stay cooler in the summer so we provide fans, heaters and extra blankets to keep guests comfortable, but we're sorry if this had a negative impact on your stay.
- As for the wood stove, we opted not to allow its use to prevent potential smoke, burns, and mess. In addition we appreciate you bringing this to our attention, our property does not have a tub and we have since updated the listing.

4/5 Snow or water resistent shoes required for entry and exit due to snow moistening running shoes. Cool but host promptly provided room heaters when requeated as thermostat controls upstairs, it was a little rough at check in as email c instructions was not obtained nor text yo vrbo/host answered in the 2 hours prior to arrival on site and phone reception throught T-mobile was hit amd miss on site. Family member was bummed the indoor fire place does not work just for looks. Honestly didnt have time to use it anyway as well truely enjoyed the activities available in the towns near by like Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Wind Caves, Colorado Brewery, Etc...
