• Worst place I have ever rented

  I would like to start by saying that I don’t write reviews often. I have stayed at numerous VRBO’s, AirBnBs and Evolve rentals over the years. This was by far and away the worst. Indeed, it was so bad, I left after the first night of a 4 night rental knowing I will most likely not receive a refund. First, the good: the door lock operated as expected and we were able to get in. The bathroom was clean.

  The bad: the entire place was covered with a layer of dust. It was everywhere: on the fan, baseboards, door knobs. I am not talking about the dust that accumulates over the course of a few days waiting for a new tenant after the last cleaning. I am referring to the dust that has not been cleaned for months or years. The handles of the stove were greasy, some of the cabinets in the kitchen would not stay closed, and the door to the bathroom would not lock. There was trash under the sink from the previous tenant. The beds in both rooms were very uncomfortable. One was firm like a rock with squeaky springs the other was soft with a significant dip in the middle. I would venture to guess both have significantly outlived their fair lifespan. The worst was the smell outside of the front door. The entire street smelled as though something about the age of the beds died under the front steps. Perhaps, that’s the reason why every room in the house had a plug in fragrance making it difficult to breathe.

  If you are in peril and need a shelter for the night, this place beats sleeping under a bridge by a small margin. Otherwise, I would consider moving on.
