  • Not So Clean!

    Kitchen equipment, including plates and glasses were dirty, not cleaned well. For example, to use a glass or coffee mug, your chances of getting a clean one was 25%. The house in general was very dusty. The lint trap in the dryer was over flowing. There were not enough towels for 14 people. The outdoor bear locker garbage was over flowing so we could not put our garbage outside. The back patio that looks so inviting on the photo was very dirty, we had to spend time sweeping and cleaning cushions. More cleaning is still needed on the outside patios, it is not very welcoming.

    Good things: House location is great in a nice neighborhood. Bathrooms were clean. House accommodated 14 people comfortably.

    Hi Louise, Thank you for highlighting the positive aspects of your stay, including the great location, clean bathrooms, and comfortable accommodation for 14 people. We want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, so we apologize you experienced some issues.
    -It's always helpful to have specifics like you provided so that our cleaners can reflect on their practices and improve. Usually, they do a great job, but reminders to dust and check the lint trap are always helpful. Unfortunately, it sounds like our dishwasher is not working as well as it should. We've ordered a new one that will be installed next week. Also, it's been a heavy pollen season, and unfortunately, it does accumulate on the deck sometimes. We've just had someone out there to power wash everything, and keep an eye on it this month.
    -We do wish you had reached out to the Guest Contact during your stay about these and your other concerns, as she would have done everything she could to resolve them immediately so that you could enjoy the home. A couple of pointers for you or other guests in the future, in case these situations arise again:
    -The cleaners are instructed to put out at least 14 bath towels, but if guests find themselves short, there are always extras in the bathroom cabinets, and hot tub towels near the back door.
    -Garbage is picked up on Tuesday, so guests who check in on Sunday or Monday (as you did) will likely encounter a full (or nearly full) bear box. If the garbage company ever misses a Tuesday pick-up, the guest contact would be happy to pick it up (or call the company to get them out there).
    We truly go above and beyond for our guests. Feedback like yours helps us ensure that future guests will have excellent stays!

  • Nice but needs a lot of TLC

    My family & I rented this property for our 4 day stay. I hardly ever give bad reviews but I felt there were too many issues w/ this house that I needed to. The house is big but it needs a lot of TLC! This place doesn’t have AC & the living/dining room fans were not working (it gets pretty hot in the living area due to the sunlight exposure & no airflow even if you open the windows), there was rat droppings in the master bdrm, & found dirty dishes & silverware put away in the drawers/cabinets, & the lights in the hallway weren’t working either. It would be nice if they would inspect the house atleast once a month & make sure everything is in working condition & it gets a detail cleaning. It looks like the cleaner only does light cleaning & overlooks a lot of common places to clean. We reached out to the person on call, which she responded my textpromptly & offered to send a handy man & pest control which neither ever arrived instead she related a message from the owner suggesting we use nightlights for the hallway which that didn’t help much because there was only one outlet & we needed 2,

    atleast, & box fans which didn’t help much either because the heat stays in one place (2nd & 3rd floor which is where you would spent most of your time anyway). I req. a refund but the owner only offered partial refund & said if we were able to find another place to stay, & can check out by 2 pm, she will refund us the unused 2 nights but it impossible to find a place for 14 ppl, last rmin.

    Hi Marcy, we appreciate your feedback, and we are committed to providing an excellent experience for our guests. Here are some insights from the homeowner:
    -After the guest's stay, our property manager inspected the fans and confirmed they were all in working order. It's important to note that the fans require both the power switch and the fan switch to be turned on, a process the property manager attempted to assist with remotely. It appears the guest may have had some misunderstanding regarding this operation.
    -Our pest control specialist visited on the next available appointment the following week. Both he and our cleaner conducted a thorough inspection of the house and found no signs of rodents. Despite laying down traps, none were caught during the week they were left out. Additionally, existing traps from the hardware store remain in place, also yielding no captures
    -While the guests mentioned concerns about the dishes, our casual wear dishes are routinely inspected for damage, with chipped or cracked dishes promptly replaced.
    -Following the stay, a check of the lights revealed that two were out in one of the hallways, which has since been rectified.
    -Our property is thoroughly cleaned before each guest's arrival, with deep cleanings scheduled every Spring and Fall. Specific feedback on any perceived cleanliness issues would be invaluable to ensure our standards are consistently met.
    -Our property manager encountered difficulty assisting the guests due to their preference for privacy and limited responsiveness to communication attempts. Despite efforts to provide remote assistance with locating fans and providing traps, access to the property was restricted per their request, hindering immediate resolution.
    -Upon their request, we provided nightlights, and our property manager also guided effectively managing the summer heat without A/C, utilizing window ventilation and fans.
    -Concerning their expressed desire to relocate, we offered a full refund for unused nights and suggested they contact Evolve to explore alternative accommodations. However, there was no record of contact with Evolve regarding this request.
    -All reported issues were promptly addressed and resolved the following week. Regrettably, most were attributed to misunderstanding operational instructions rather than equipment malfunction.
    -We regret any inconvenience experienced and encourage direct communication to promptly resolve any concerns during future stays.
    We go above and beyond to ensure a delightful stay and look forward to welcoming many more satisfied guests.

  • Tahoe Getaway

    5/5

    Rented the home for a couple weeks - super comfortable and perfect for the family. Lots of space, great location and enjoyed sledding, slopes and snowballs. Kitchen is loaded and kudos to the attention around coffee.

    We will be back in the summer for golf, hiking and mountain biking!

  • PROS AND CONS

    WE CELEBRATED CHRISTMAS WITH FAMILY AS THIS TIME OF YEAR WE ALL GET TOGETHER AND LEAVE OUR BUSY LIVES BEHIND. THE HOME WAS NICE AND LARGE WITH DIFFERENT AREAS TO ENJOY. THE KITCHEN WAS THE HUB OF OUR GATHERING AND WE APPRECIATED A NICE BIG KITCHEN TO CONGREGATE AROUND WHILE COOKING AND ENJOYING EACH OTHERS COMPANY. THE FIREPLACE WAS WOOD BURNING WHICH IS NOSTALGIC, HOWEVER THE DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOMS SMELLED OF SMOKE AND THERE WERE NO SMOKE DETECTORS OR CARBON MONOXCIDE DETECTORS. THE MAIN FLOOR BATHTUB WOULD OF BEEN MORE USEFUL IF IT WERE A SHOWER, AND HAVING NO EXTRACTORS IN THE BATHROOM SEEMED STRANGE.OVERALL THE HOME HAD PLENTY OF SPACE IN A QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD. A QUICK DRIVE TO THE STORES AND SKI SLOPES.
