• Extremely Disappointing and Unsafe Experience – Do Not Recommend

  Our stay at this property was incredibly disappointing. Upon arrival, we discovered the heater was broken, leaving the house cold. Several light bulbs were out in the living room, and after a workman came to fix the heater, they left the ceiling vent filthy.While cooking, the house filled with smoke because the kitchen vent was blocked with insulation, setting off the fire alarms. The fire department arrived and informed us the vent was out of compliance with safety regulations. They attempted to call the emergency number listed in the home handbook, but no one answered.Additional issues included:A broken icemakerSlippery shower with no safety matA towel rack that fell off the wallThe fireplace stopped workingWhen we reached out to the owner, he responded with disdain and no accountability. He brought bags of ice, fixed a few things, and left. Workers were at the house for two full days, making it difficult to relax. We asked for compensation, but he refused and never apologized. His behavior felt intimidating, and he stared us down when we expressed our concerns.We reported everything to VRBO, opened a case, and provided photos. This was a terrible experience, and I would not recommend staying here.

  Hi Sigrid, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize you experienced some issues with the community amenities during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
  
  - Sometimes things malfunction it's no one's fault but it happens and we are sorry about the heater issues. When you contacted us about this we sent temporary heat alternatives and also sent the repairman and within a day they had the heat back up and running very well.
  - Regarding your comments about my behavior again I apologize you were making false claims and I was frustrated. You didn't seem to appreciate the efforts we were making and that didn't make matters any better. I am a hard-working and very attentive owner who strives to make each guest comfortable and when things need attention I'm right there to make things right.
  - When we spoke to the fire chief they told us they had to explain to you how to use the fan. We later discovered the microwave vents back into the room which many do. We will be adding an external vent to prevent any smoke issues.
  - We will label the light switch and leave instructions on how to use the dimmer. All bulbs have been checked and are working.
  - We have checked and updated the contact list with a 2nd support person in case of emergencies. In addition, we have a welcome binder with plenty of information.
  - The water filter was not installed properly which prevented the ice maker from generating ice. This has been fixed and fresh ice will be available for all our future guests.
  - We are installing anti-slip strips in the bathtub to provide a more secure surface.
  
  We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

• Winter Wonderland

  My family of four our pups enjoyed four days at this home in January of 2025. The house was comfortable and in a great location. We walked under a mile with our sled to a winter sledding park. We went in the hot tub with a yard full of snow. The fenced yard was perfect for letting the pups romp safely. We walked to a he lake each day. It was just perfect for us.

• Feels like home

  When we first came into the house we felt like we were at home. So cozy, clean and homey. Everything was close by, even the sledding!! Beautiful place to go hiking too near the house.We made a lot of new family memories here and can't wait to come back

• Cozy retreat

  If you are looking for a cozy retreat that is conveniently located within walking distance from Lake Tahoe, restaurants and activities, this is the place for you. Located in a quiet neighborhood just off N. Lake Blvd., it is ideal for going on walks with or without your fur baby with almost no vehicle traffic. We especially loved the huge, fenced backyard that was well-appointed and a perfect spot to relax. With all the must-have amenities and attentive management, we do not hesitate recommending this for your family’s Tahoe stay.
