• Practical but Needs Updating

  This rental was affordable and in a practical location for where we needed to be in Running Springs. However, I was very disappointed in the quality of cleaning and the number of updates that the home needs. I usually travel with my own cleaning supplies, and I'm glad I did. I wiped down surfaces to find significant dirt, needed to use my own dishwasher soap as only one pod had been left, and I don't think the window sills had been cleaned in many months. I typically try to avoid rentals with carpet, and this rental reminded me why. My daughter's allergies were terrible the two days she was with me in the house (resolved when she left), and I am fairly certain it was due to the carpet that needs to be replaced. The upstairs screen was broken, and I had a hard time opening windows that also need to be replaced. Used toothpaste had been left in the bathroom indicating it also hadn't been cleaned well before our arrival.

  In addition to the problematic cleaning, we didn't see the other reviews about the driveway until it was too late to change our plans. We could not pull our minivan into the driveway, as the bottom of the car hit the ground. We were able to park on the street in front of the driveway, but it made for a long unloading and loading process.

  If we need to be in the area again in the future, I will try to find another rental. This one really needs some improvements if it wants to attract more visitors.

  - We use a professional cleaning company that thoroughly prepares the home for guests, providing photos after each cleaning. We also often travel to the home to perform inspections. We've shared your comments with our cleaners so they can address these areas of opportunity moving forward.
  - As is standard in the vacation rental industry, we provide a starter amount of essentials like dishwashing pods, and once that amount is out, it's typical for the guest to purchase more supplies.
  - We’re sorry to hear about your daughter’s allergies. There’s an air filter in the living room that we change after every few guests. While the carpet is older, we have a lenient pet policy that would need to change if we replaced it. At this time, we don’t plan to replace the carpet or the windows.
  - The screen isn’t broken, but it can be difficult to open and close, so we leave it in the open position. We're considering removing it to avoid any issues.
  - We share information about the driveway before each stay, which is typical in the mountains. When you reached out, we suggested parking in front of the driveway as an alternative solution. We're updating the listing to mention that the driveway is steep so guests are aware before booking.

  Nice cozy place. But the parking in the steep driveway, as we were warned it was challenging even with 4x4 vehicle.

• cozy cabin

  very nice location. everything we were looking for in a cabin long weekend getaway. we checked in at the beginning of some storms so we didn't get to do the things we planned. lots of snow one day and rain another.

  would definitely have a do-over when the weather is better.

• Relaxing property

  Great place in Running Springs. Nice fireplace for those chilly nights. Would have loved to have cooked a meal in the kitchen but plans didn’t allow. The master bed was soo comfortable. Quiet and secluded place to get away Thank you!
