  • Do not rent, anything but relaxation!

    It was awful!

Pulling up it looked abandoned. It was dirty and tired. Plants were dead, Nothing about it was welcoming.

Walking in it smelled old and musty. The appliances were old. Only 1 of the 4 burners on the stove worked, the microwave turntable was broken. There was wrappers and trash on the shelves and counters. An old non stick skillet was out on the stove top that looked like it was about 20 year old all scratched up and burnt. Electrical outlet over stove looked questionable, conduit blackened (fire ?) ceiling fixture had no fixture just a light bulb screwed into it.

The sliding glass door to the back deck was broken, so you had to go through the bedroom to get outside.

The living room was tires as well, old furniture. trying to get the windows open was interesting. Old single pane windows with old thumb screw locks. who ever locked up previously really cranked them down.

The bathroom was disgusting. There was toothpaste spit on the mirror. In the medicine cabinet there was a tube of Preparation H, a used toothbrush and 1/2 bottle of cough syrup. There was no counter top, you had to use the top of the washer and dryer for your things. The pocket door did not work so there was no privacy.

The bedroom was dark and had very squeaky floors (the whole house did for that matter) The night stands were tiny and shaky, felt like they would fall over at any time. There was no dresser so you just had to pile your things on the chase.

Going out to the deck was interesting. Very old and shaky. The railing wobbled when touched. We had to clean the Table and chairs before we could use them. Everything has spider webs and dust all over it. It didn't look like anyone had been out there in months. I was afraid to set a drink on the table for how wobbly it was. With the table being so unstable I was afraid to use the table top fire pit (about the size of a dinner plate).

I wish I could post pictures to show how bad it was.

We would have never stayed one night here but everything was booked in in town due to the back to back concerts.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Charles, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
    - We strive to provide our guests with a great guest experience, so we were disappointed to hear your feedback and want to take a moment to address your concerns.
    - We were unaware of any issues or concerns during your stay and wish you had reached out to the Guest Contact. We would have promptly responded and been more than happy to help. We take our listing accuracy seriously and use professional photographers so we can be sure that our images accurately reflect each property and guests can decide before booking if the decor meets their expectations.
    - We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Prior to your stay we had a service repairman to address issues with the stove and assumed the issue was resolved, unfortunately, this was not the case but have since replaced the stove so future guests do not share the same experience. Additionally, we have since addressed all other items mentioned.
    - We use a cleaning service to have the home professionally cleaned before each guest's stay. We have followed up with our cleaning service and assure you our cleaning team will pay closer attention to detail.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

  • Something very special about this place!

This is our second stay at this location, and we love it for a few reasons. We super enjoy watching the cows come to graze in the morning and evening. This is a huge highlight for us, and very relaxing! Also, our 12 year old son is obsessed with fishing, and tubing down the river that flows through Murphys, and he is able to walk back and forth in a few minutes to and from the house. He loves his little taste of freedom, and we love seeing him so happy! We love the bee decor, and are thankful for no television. The house definitely has its quirks but we embrace them wholeheartedly, and feel so thankful for our time here. Already looking forward to our next trip!
