Great stay
5/5 A wonderful, spacious house with a great kitchen for us to cook meals in. Many thoughtful touches and you can tell that the hosts have made a lot of effort to meet all the needs of guests. Jeannie was communicative and friendly. A great house for a little getaway.

5/5 The views are great and the place is even better than the photos. Plenty of places to relax and enjoy the quiet surroundings of Monte Rio!

5/5 We were celebrating our 40th anniversary and had a wonderful time staying here. I don't think the pictures really do it justice. We spent most of our time outside on the large deck in the lounges watchiing bats, satellites, the space station and numerous perseid meteors. And of course the Redwoods! The inside is very nicely decorated, comfy/cozy! Some previous comments mention the stairs....I think they must have been fixed as I didn't find them rickety at all. And prior comments about ice.....there is now a separate freezer with ice which we really appreciated. We golfed 2 days at the beautiful Northwoods golf course. The restaurant there is quite good too. NOTE - It seems many many places are closed on Monday and/or Tuesday. Eating is rather hard to find. We Will stay here again, maybe sooner than we thought when we first rented. But we would so it Wednesday and on. It was very nice!

Fantastic! Well equipped!
5/5 We had a fantastic stay here. The area is beautiful and quiet and the beach close by is very little used, even on weekends. The check in was easy. The key is in a lockbox with a code to open it. We liked this because we left the key there when we left and didn't worry about losing it. The home is spacious and clean, there is lots of seating areas in the living room with very comfortable couches, the beds are extremely comfortable, the deck is private with a great view and the kitchen has everything you will need, even for really good cooks! There are good pots and pans, good knives, great olive oil and balsamic, great coffee, cuisinart food processor, blender, mixing bowls, measuring spoons and cups, and on and on. There are lots of other things in the house that you might not expect. For example, I had a shirt with a seam that was unravelling and I found a sewing kit in the bathroom! It was so helpful. The only 2 things I missed while being there was a barbacue and a way to dry things. The parking is on a very narrow street, but we never had trouble finding spots right in front of the house. There is a house in front of this house and a downstairs neighbor, which is not quite clear from the description. Neither were an issue, I was just surprised. It makes the seating area by the pond feel communal instead of private even though we didn't see anyone hanging out there. The beach was not as close as I had hoped, but the description may be accurate. You walk down to the little store (about 5 min walk) and then through a gravel parking lot and you come out on the gravel beach. To get all the way to the water may be closer to a 10 min walk, but I did not actually time it. Over all I highly recommend this stay!
