My husband and I really enjoyed this property. The views of Mt. Shasta are stunning and the house is well-placed to enjoy the natural landscape. Our dogs especially enjoyed the remote location and privacy. The house is well-equipped for a long-term stay with a reasonably sized family. The second kitchen on the north side of the house was less useful; during our stay the refrigerator at that end of the house was broken. If you were staying with multiple families, that could be a barrier. The bathrooms were well-appointed with a good number of linens. Laundry capabilities were provided (detergent and softener). The only upgrade I would suggest in the King en-suite bathroom would be a new hand-held showerhead that could have a higher level of water pressure. We definitely enjoyed our stay and intend to come back!

We had a lovely stay. The cabin was clean and spacious. The location was beautiful. We felt like we were in our own winter wonderland. The kids didn't even want to leave to go skiing at the nearby resort because they were having so much fun sledding right there on the property. Highly recommend, and we would love to rent again.

The listing has since been updated to be more clear, but the unit in the house we were put in did not match what we had reserved. We would not have rented a place without two rooms due to having an infant with us, and we would not have chosen the unit we were placed in at the cost we paid. Both my friend and I looked over the listing before choosing it and it did not match what we received. The property manager was responsive by phone but stated there wasn't anything to be done. The property and location is beautiful and will be an amazing place to stay in renting the whole house. Otherwise, I would not recommend it.

Loryn, thanks for staying with us. We're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay.
- We're sorry the listing didn't live up to your expectations. We use professional photography for the home, so the features you see on the listing are accurately advertised. The bunkhouse has a main-floor bedroom, an oversized upstairs bedroom, and an upstairs “loft” with a pullout bed. The Evolve listing is clear about the specifications for each unit, however, we are sorry if it didn't meet your standards.
- We are happy to hear that you found the location and house to be beautiful. We are sorry that you won't be returning.
Thanks for letting us know about your stay!
We love visiting McCloud over Tahoe. This was our first time in the winter. We booked our reservation a few months ahead to celebrate my son’s birthday. We arrived just before the sun was setting and had a little bit of a difficult time finding the address. Our maps brought us to a Y in the road and we ended up at one of the other vacation rentals. My husband walked back down the street and found the address number a little further down the other road. Once we made it to the correct house, everything else went perfectly. Unknowingly, we woke up to a beautifully clear sky and an amazing view of Mt. Shasta. The cabin was very cozy and perfect for our family of 5. We cooked all meals there and everything was in new condition. The beds were very comfortable. It has a shared unit to other (long-term?) tenants, but we didn’t see or heard them at all. We were close enough to do trips to the sledding hill and ski resort. The little grocery store had a great selection for a few food items we were lacking. We would love to go again in the summer or fall!
