This is one of the loveliest and best equipped rentals we have ever enjoyed. The lake is beautiful for swimming, and we enjoyed performances at Jacob’s Pillow and Tanglewood, as well as the many wonderful attractions of the Berkshires. Highly recommended!

From the Owner: "We are so happy you and your family had such a good time! We love having guests who really appreciate what we offer. It comes from years of renting vacation homes that were inadequately equipped and didn’t live up to the hype or match the photos. We want guests to be pleasantly surprised at every turn and excited to book a return visit. Thank you!"
What a great house! A peaceful, restful setting in the woods. The home is beautifully furnished with a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of living space. The screened-in porch is a special feature, as is the hot tub. We enjoyed everything about this place, including the pond. We would love to come back in the fall, or any other time. What a great find. The owners were very helpful with suggestions, and very responsive. Highly recommended!
From the owner: "Hey, Cheryl! What a lovely review! Thank you. You were wonderful guests and we are delighted you had such a great time and enjoyed the house so
much. Please do book during autumn. The views are quite spectacular, especially with the forest’s yellows, reds, and oranges reflecting in the pond. Quite painterly!
Of course, the hikes are great then and there is a lot going on culturally."
Beauty framed in every window of this comfortable home in the woods. Screened porch and deck look out onto the lake, that only the chilly temperature and rain kept us from kayaking on. Everything needed for enjoying our stay was provided and Katherine was so thoughtful and attentive as a host throughout. Although we didn't leave the peace and quiet for long, there is lots to do nearby. We enjoyed a delicious lunch (Zinc), pastries (The Lost Lamb) and an excellent bookstore (The Bookstore). We hope to return!

From the owner: "Thank you for your lovely review! You were such nice guests and we love that you enjoyed your time here so much. Please come again in fairer weather so you can get out on and in the pond to boat and swim. Yet, I understand how the absence didn’t bother you that much. We have found it is the perfect place to breathe in slowly and exhale completely."
There aren't enough incredible things to say about this property. Tucked away in the tranquil woods of the Berkshires, it's a true gem among gems. The floor to ceiling windows both upstairs and downstairs give a picturesque view of the lake that’s only steps away. Walk out wrap around decks, screened (downstairs) and open (upstairs), are the absolute perfect place to relax and soak in the nature that surrounds you. The upstairs den is a relaxing nook where you can start a fire, sit back with a glass of wine, and unwind to your music of choice streaming through any of the multiple Sono's speakers around the home.
The icing on the cake was the master bedroom/bath. Skylights in both rooms let in the perfect amount of light, the bed is beyond comfortable with premium linens and the walk-in shower and standalone tub are absolutely amazing!
The entire place is spotless. I'd go as far to say it was likely the cleanest we've ever stayed in (both for a hotel and short term rental) and the communication from the property owner was second to none. She made everything so easy for us from check in to check out.
The location is perfect, central to the best ski resorts, restaurants, towns and shops that the Berkshires have to offer.
Each detail within this property sets an overall experience that can best be described as a "peaceful, positive energy affirming vibe." If you're lucky enough to secure a week at this rental don't hesitate. We're already planning our next stay.

From the owner: "What an amazing review! Thank you so much! It is always gratifying to host guests who appreciate our home and its surroundings. We love sharing this special place. You were wonderful guests and we hope you come again, soon!"
We really loved our stay at West Otis during Thanksgiving week. The area is beautiful in the Fall and the location feels very tranquil and remote yet there are towns nearby and the lake that the house overlooks has a few quiet neighbors so you have tons of privacy and a generous property to explore. We had Snow during our stay which made things more magical and fun! Driving the area is a treat as there are pretty views on any of the roads leading to the house (the valley near Tyringham is gorgeous). The nearby town of Stockbridge (12 miles) offers some great hiking and an adorable little town to explore and shop, and there are tons of hiking trails in the Berkshires!
The Lovely house is big with 2 floors and a nice entry/mud room but super comfy and modern. The open floor plan was airy and bright is stocked with great furnishings, linens, art, and decor, but never feels crowded or cluttered; and there are lots of nooks to just relax, or gaze out the windows at the pond while having morning coffee on the upper deck porch. The house has everything you need for a peaceful stay in the Berkshires and the kitchen is well equipped if you want to prepare large or small meals, with great new appliances. The beds are medium firm but very comfortable, and we found it easy to relax any time of day. The forested property is very pretty and fun to explore.
The Hosts are incredibly responsive, helpful and informative will answer any questions quickly.
