  Great house! Less than ideal host experience.The house and property exceeded our expectations! The property was very well upkept and the house was well furnished and clean. We loved having fresh starfruit! The location was excellent. I would love to give this property 5 stars but we had less than ideal experiences picking up and dropping off the keys to the property. We notified the host our arrival time to coordinate meeting them at the airport to pickup the keys. After getting our car and luggage we were told that the host wasnt able to bring the keys and we would need to meet them at Kmart. Our check out instructions were to leave the keys in a lockbox at the gate. The lock box didnt work so we were informed by our host that we would need to meet them back at Kmart to give them the keys.

• Our Favorite Stay on St. Croix

  We've stayed near Cane Bay 3 times now and this was our favorite property and best experience so far. The house is private, gated, and just 2 minutes from Cane Bay and the local bars and restaurants. We had coffee and breakfast every morning on the front porch with a clear view of St. Thomas and St. John in the background. The house is equipped with a full kitchen, laundry room, games, plenty of towels and beach equipment. Communication with Nicholas and his son Te-Khai was excellent. Nicholas went out of his way to fetch us fresh coconuts and provide coconut water for my pregnant wife. Needless to say, they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. We will gladly stay here again on our next visit to St. Croix.

• Clean and comfortable with a great porch

  This is a well-stocked house (linens, toiletries, kitchen) with a very nice porch for sitting and looking out at the lovely grounds. Small view of the ocean, and nice and quiet. The rooms were comfortable. Note that you will be met by the caretaker at the airport (or at nearby location— we know St Croix so we met elsewhere), who will give you the house keys and gate opener. If you have 2 cars doing separate things, then ask for another gate opener. Caretaker Nicolas was very responsive and friendly.

• Great cottage on the hill!

  House was great size for a family or a few friends. Walkable (steep hill) to Rowdy Joe's but otherwise a car is needed to get to restaurants, shopping and attractions. Very close to beautiful Cane Bay Beach and not far from the main towns. Everything was in good working order
