Communication was super, home was clean, and a great overall stay!

We had a fantastic stay in Wyoming in this cute little cottage. Perfect size for two people, immaculately clean with all the amenities that we needed. The fridge with the ice maker was an great bonus. We didn't cook, but the cottage had everything that you would need to make a meal.
On Day #3 we woke up to no hot water, but I texted the owner and she was there within 10 minutes to check it out. There had been a storm the day before and a power surge knocked out the hot water heater. Owner had the hot water working again quickly.
Highly recommend this cute cottage for two!

Property was under construction. Loud construction noise inside and outside the premises. There was no disclosure of this situation. Some highway noise from I-80 throughout the day and night. Also, confronted by a processor attempting to serve legal documents to the owner. Stay was unsettling and uncomfortable, my wife and I were unsure of our safety with construction workers in the ground level part of the house and on the premises, and a processor confronting us.

Hi William, we appreciate hearing from guests, however, the pleasant communication you had with the owner makes this review come as a shock and they would like to clarify the following:
- The construction work was limited to the lower level, which is a separate unit and not accessible from the upstairs unit where you stayed.
- Any noisy work done by the two carpenters was limited to normal business hours and kept outside to minimize disruption.
- An envelope was left on the exterior wall for the process server to avoid disturbing you. When the server showed up you removed the envelope off the wall and handed it to the server. There was no confrontation involved.
- While we cannot control external factors like traffic noise, we include a map on our listing so that guests can see the proximity to the highway. This is the first time a guest has given feedback on this issue.
- Safety is a top priority, and we regret that the presence of construction workers caused discomfort. If these concerns had been raised during your stay, efforts such as ceasing construction altogether would have been made to address them immediately.
While we regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to report that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend.
Overall, the property is as described and the inside of the home is well kept, nicely styled, and completely adequate for a stay. My only real concern was that a person looking to reserve should be aware that though it is not shown as a policy on the listing, a night minimum can be imposed after the fact. We reserved for three nights, understanding that we could modify the reservation by a certain date. When we attempted to do so we were told we could not shorten the stay and there was a minimum. No minimum was shown at booking as I originally was booking 2 nights. Evidently, the property can decide at any point to enforce a minimum as they wish. I think it would be more forthright to include a policy stating that a night minimum can be enforced at any time that overrides the ability to modify the reservation. To have no stated policy and to not restrict the original reservation to a minimum seems a little arbitrary. Communications to compromise to satisfy the situation had no effect.

This spot worked well for our needs. Cozy home, as described in listing. We used it as a home base to explore the area. Only downside was lack of air conditioning but we kept drapes closed during the day and it cooled down at night so we were OK. We would stay there again.
