  • Almost Heaven

Super clean and exactly as advertised! So quiet and peaceful. No skimping on toilet paper - the nice stuff is provided! That gives you the idea of quality there.

  • Not as expected

While we did have very nice bedrooms and bathrooms there was so much more wrong. All of the windows were unlocked when we got there, our towels for the bathrooms were stained, the coffee pot was so dirty we had to scrub and the the kitchen floor. The outdoors are very overgrown with weeds and not a nice place to sit outside. There was also poison ivy right on the front yard. We were not told that there was no propane for the gas fireplace and could not use that. No CO2, ice cube maker, and we were told to have the dishes put in the dishwasher before we left, found out the morning of our departure, there were no pods and had to hand wash all of our dishes. They were also no handles on any of the kitchen cabinets and very little hand soap. Also, all of the snacks that were left there were at least one year or more past expiration as what’s the coffee that was there.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Susan, we appreciate you sharing your thoughts about your recent stay. Your feedback is essential to us, and we've relayed your comments to the homeowner, who would like to address the following:
    - Thank you for choosing to stay in our Harpers Ferry, West Virginia home and leaving a review, as guest feedback is vitally important to us and the success of our vacation rental business.
    - We set very high standards and, unfortunately, we didn't meet them. Because we are not local, we work with local cleaners and contractors to make sure the house is well-stocked and cared for. We have contacted our cleaners to work on better protocols to ensure the house is properly cleaned. Safety and cleanliness are our biggest concerns.
    - We also take safety seriously, and we do have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in place, which we regularly check to ensure they are functioning correctly.
    - In addition to these improvements, we are reaching out to Evolve to expedite a resolution for the issues you encountered during your stay. We want to make sure your concerns are fully addressed.

Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. We genuinely value your feedback, and we're committed to making the necessary changes to enhance the quality of our property for future guests.

  • Hapers Ferry Cabin Review

I stayed for a week and my parents joined me for a few days. The home was great! The property was as expected from the photos - spacious rooms, a nice front porch, big back deck and yard. Check in and check out were very easy. Its very quiet, which is exactly what I was looking for. This proprty is about 15 min from Harpers Ferry, Charlestown, and Martinsburg. Tons of vineyards in the area, river fun, lots of out doors stuff close by. I really enjoyed my rereat here!
