The house is large and is a great place to go with a larger group. Check in was very easy and the host was responsive when we had questions. We all loved the pool of course, and there are a bunch of toys and floats already there. Having a washer and dryer on the property was also a nice bonus. The beds were all very comfortable. There is only a Keurig machine, so if you need actual coffee, bring a coffee maker. But there was a large variety of k-cups provided. Overall, the house the was perfect for us and we would definitely return.

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us! Our family (three generations) made some wonderful memories in the pool, by the campfire, playing games, and hiking the beautiful trails. The property was absolutely beautiful all around and perfect for a peaceful family retreat in the countryside. Jamie was extremely responsive and helpful with anything we needed. We would highly recommend staying at this property!

Old farm house with lots of character and charm, away from the hustle and bustle of city life! Communication with home owner was great and easy when i had questions or concerns. The kids really enjoyed the pool and the trails around the property were beautiful. I could see this being a great winter spot where snow shoeing, cross country skiing and winter hikes would be great! It was a fun getaway to unplug.

I would love to give this property a 5 star. The pool was amazing. And it was such a cool property but there were some issues
1. This kitchen was barely stocked for cooking. There were no baking sheets or pans, 3 small bowls Very little to cook with. It was also not stocked with basics so we had to buy our own garbage bags, paper towel and dish soap which we weren’t aware of. The closest store is a gas station 30 minutes away so it was triple priced to get basic things. Had it been posted I would have come prepared.
2. There was no coffee pot besides a single keurig with some pumpkin spice cups. Again. Not an issue if we’re told this. So come prepared.
3. There was a broken smoke alarm that we alerted them to the night we arrived in a locked room. It beeped the entire 5 days we were there. We asked for it to be fixed and it never was. That plus a house alarm beeped the entire stay and was very loud in the one bedroom.
4. There were hundreds of dead ladybugs in the house. Again. I get this issue. But they were there when we arrived as the cleaning crew was leaving (they had the wrong arrival time posted). When first walking in all the windows and bathrooms were filled with dead lady bugs.
Last but not least for a house that sleeps so many there’s one sitting area and some chairs. Again. Not a huge issue. But it was a challenge for two families
All that the property is beautiful. The house has a ton of character. And the pool is amazing. Kids had the BEST time!

We have been renting entire homes for our vacations (and sometimes other types of travel, too) for at least ten years now, so we have seen quite a few properties and this one is rather unique. I don't often come across pet friendly historic houses with lots of acreage AND an indoor pool. It was just what we were looking for. FYI, since it was not entirely clear to me from the info in the listing, the indoor pool remains in operation during the winter months and is heated to a nice temperature. Worth noting, because sometimes indoor pools are closed during the cold months.
This property was relatively new to the rental market when we stayed there, and the furniture all appeared to be brand new (other than the antique chair in the room with the wood stove).
We were lucky enough to be there on a clear night with a new moon - the star-gazing was spectacular! We could have used the outdoor fire pit, but the outdoor temperature was still a bit too cold at night for us to motivate ourselves to do so. It looks like a great fire pit, though, and it is nicely located right by a door to the pool area. This would be a lovely place for a midsummer celebration.
We did enjoy the indoor wood stove a good bit. We appreciate that abundant fire wood is provided.
Some advice: our cell service (Verizon) wasn't great at the house, so bring screen shots or print outs of the info you need to get in the house so you have it on hand for the few minutes between your arrival and the time that you are up and running on the wifi. Be sure to have a flashlight on hand if there is a chance that you will arrive after sunset - presumably everyone has a flashlight on their phone at this point, but I thought I would mention this just in case.
