The cottage is lovely. We enjoyed the amenities and water view. The record player was a treat. It was, however, a bit challenging to have a bathroom on the first floor and it took us a good 15 minutes to figure out how to turn on the lights in every room. You may need to look at the code to get into the cottage. '2018' is what we were given and throughout the trip we attempted to use it and it never worked. We had to use the real key the entire time. The shower liner should be replaced it was really gross and not clean. We almost bought a new one but didn't care for the extra expense. The countertop was not clean upon arrival we had to wipe it down. There was a lot of dust, dust bunnies behind the bed and behind the small nightstand. Lots of spider and bug carcasses on the kitchen shelves countertops, bathroom, walls etc. The fan and walls need a good cleaning. I bought a swiffer duster to clean things up enough for us to sleep in the room and we bought Kleenex. The remote control needs batteries replaced. There was no Kleenex and no kitchen trash bags. We found small trash liners in the laundry area but the items in the laundry were not organized and had to dig through a box with a broken glass frame.

From the owner: “Thank you for your feedback and for choosing our cottage. We’re so glad you enjoyed the water view, amenities, and record player!
We sincerely apologize for the cleanliness and maintenance issues you experienced. This is not the standard we maintain, and we take your concerns seriously.
We’ve replaced the shower liner, completed a thorough deep cleaning, reset the door code, replaced the remote batteries, and restocked necessary supplies.
We’ve also reviewed our procedures with our cleaning team to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention, as it helps us improve. We hope you enjoyed the beauty of the area despite these issues.”
Our stay was wonderful. The home was quaint, beautifully decorated, and stocked with plenty of amenities that made it easy to relax and feel at home. A perfect spot for a peaceful getaway.

Thank you, Ashley! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay.
House was just ok... many areas screamed DYI (exposed insulation in bathroom, scrunched ducts in dinning room, flooring gaps in kitchen) and supplies similar to a college house (hand soap watery from added water instead of soap, minimal kitchen supplies for actual cooking, no child safe dishes/cups). Additionally, the house was hot when we arried due to owner requesting the air is turned off on leaving. We noticed a swing in the pictures but this wasn't present on site. Door code didn't work, contact was able to address quickly. Beach is sand but the water is full of boudlers/large rocks--NOT safe for swimming. "Pool" is noted on the listing but definately doesn't exists--while we assumed this based on pictures, adds to concern about details.

From the Owner: "Thank you for your feedback, Miranda. We apologize that the door code didn’t work initially and are glad our team resolved this quickly.
We’re surprised by the other concerns raised, as we’ve successfully hosted guests since 2019 without similar feedback. Our cottage is accurately represented in our listing and maintained regularly.
The beach’s natural rock formations are typical for the Door Peninsula. We want to clarify that our listing does not advertise a pool - if there was confusion about amenities, we encourage guests to reach out with questions before booking to ensure proper expectations."
