You can walk or ride your bike right into the park from this property's backyard. This is the 3rd largest and most complete park in the state with 3,776 gorgeous acres and 8 miles of shoreline.

You name it, Peninsula State Park has it: sand beaches, bicycle and boat rentals, hiking and bike trails throughout, nature center, historic lighthouse, 18-hole golf course, & scenic overlooks. You can rent a kayak and paddle out to Horseshoe Island. The park also has a theater with performances 6 nights a week in the summer.

Calling all thespians - the Peninsula Players Theatre is just 10 minutes away along the lake and puts on both classic & contemporary acts. Be sure the check the calendar for seasonal performances on the serene 16 acres of wooded land.

Although I ended up doing my dishes by hand and haven't had to do that for a long time, we had a wonderful, restful visit with a great yard and a lot of privacy.

The best thing about this property is the yard. Our kids had fun running around and there's lots of yard furniture for enjoying the outdoors. Other than that, there wasn't anything particularly special nor seriously wrong with the house.

Some details that could have been better - lack of grill tools, no dishwasher (generally wouldn't bother me but the sink didn't plug very well so I expect the water bill here to be through the roof). Although there were six of us staying there we arrived with only two towels in the bathroom and five chairs around the table. Both were easy to find but I generally would have expected them to be prepared for our group. I wouldn't expect 8 people to be comfortable here as there were only 6 dinner knives in the drawer and I'm not sure the table inside could sit 8 adults.

Kitchen was well stocked, especially with spices. Folgers coffee was provided, which is unfortunate that they couldn't splurge for something a little better but at least it was there. There's also a number of books, including children's books and games which is nice to have.

Although the house is old, it's in fairly good shape and the bathroom seemed to have been more recently renovated. The shower, for example, is modern and nice. Check-in/check-out has literally never been easier - that part of the process was appreciated.

  • Great location, everything you need!

    5/5

We enjoyed our week at the cape house so much! Kitchen is well stocked with supplies for cooking, plenty of room to sleep comfortably, and a nice table to enjoy our time with family. Patio and fire pit also perfect! Hope to stay again in the future!

  • Comfortable place to come home to

    5/5

Very nice home with interesting history, nice deck, comfortable beds.

We felt immediately at home. Relaxing as it was just far enough away from tourism and close enough for a healthy walk downtown Fish Creek.

  • Fun Family Stay at the Cape House

    5/5

Cute, clean house that was close to Peninsula State Park, Fish Creek town center and many other local attractions. Our two families (4 adults and 4 children ages 1 through 12) had a great vacation!
