  The property could use a little TLC and updates, however over all stay was great. Owner was extremely responsive to small issues we had while staying there. Kitchen was well stocked, plenty of towels in bathrooms, and paper products to get you started.

  It is a short walk to a small park on Delavan Lake, to the Shore Store/Bar, and a ten-minute drive to Downtown Lake Geneva. The house needs some serious cleaning. As soon as I walked into the kitchen, I saw ants everywhere. The dishwasher was left full of dishes that were not washed. Three steps onto the deck and I stepped in dog poop, which I didn't see because of all the leaves, etc. that had fallen from the tree and not been swept. A pressure washer and hose were left in the middle of the deck, we had to clean up several items to avoid tripping and even to be able to walk on the deck. The backyard was not usable for anything other than grilling. The biggest challenge was sleeping. We had a family emergency and had to go home on Sunday, and were going to come back Sunday night, but we did not get sleep Friday or Saturday, so we left Sunday morning and did not return. The beds are not the greatest, but it was so incredibly stuffy. The rooms have window air conditioners, but they were too loud. We thought about opening windows, except in one of the bedrooms, we found two dead and decaying baby birds that had come through the space between the window and the air conditioner. It was a horrible, decaying mess that we had to clean up immediately. There were nests by the other air units. It was so uncomfortable that on the second night, I slept on the first-floor couch, but woke up several times because the house is so close to the road. We did request a credit and were given 56

  Hi Vincent, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our properties seriously! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
  - This was the first stay of the season, and we had just onboarded a new cleaner, whose initial performance unfortunately missed the mark. A new cleaning plan is already in motion to prevent future issues, and we are also hiring additional support to stay on top of property readiness. The dishwasher was overlooked during turnover, and that’s something we’ve now addressed directly with our cleaner.
  - The deck was in the middle of seasonal maintenance, including power washing and organizing. unfortunately, rain delayed the work, but it’s now complete.
  - We've placed ant bait as soon as we heard about the issue and will bring in a professional exterminator if needed. We were surprised and concerned to hear about the birds in the bedroom and noted that, due to Wisconsin’s wildlife regulations, we cannot tamper with active nests, but we are working on sealing all entry points to prevent this in the future.
  - Also, we acknowledge that the A/C units were noisy for sleep and are exploring quieter solutions where possible.
  - While guests are always welcome to reach out about refunds, in this case, we proactively offered a credit based on the experience.
