• Great family getaway!!

  I loved this very quirky and interesting VRBO---not just the house, but the whole property was a jewel. I cannot emphasize enough how unique it was. It is HUGE inside and out. We had a family reunion with 12 adults and 10 children (2-16). There were so many options for sleeping that we probably could have fit 30 of us! The game room was popular, the movie room SO comfy, but the star of the show was the pool. Very, very nice—good size, deep and shallow, well used by our family. This home is an octagon—so unusual—many hallways; more mirrors! But we could see how beautiful it was back in the day when it was built—and the grounds are overgrown, but spectacular!! I just need someone to give me a few million to buy it and restore the glory…Pros: lots of beds, TONS of towels, dishes, games and seating areas. Lots of places to explore both inside and out.Cons: air conditioning does not really keep the house cool enough on hot days, the water pressure is a problem. You can’t take a shower if the dishwasher or washing machine is on. Also, while there is a hot tub, it is not working—just regular temperature water.Will we be back? Probably—it is hard to find a nice place big enough for us with a pool. We also really enjoyed fact that this was such an interesting house.

  Hello, we wanted to thank you for the feedback and let you know we invested in and added two new reserve 100 gallon tanks so that the well output will not longer impact the guests. This was ok for a family but we now have a water system sized more appropriately for large groups!

  We had a great time on our weekend in The Octagon. Such a unique and interesting place to stay. Lots of space for different gatherings, plenty of places to sleep, and such a charming setting!

  It was great except the pool and hot tub were not working. Rented this house because it had a pool! I brought 15 kids with me thinking they could swim the majority of the time! NO, we had to spend more of their senior money to keep them busy. Other than that it is a wonderful house to stay in! Tons of room for everyone.
