This was a great place for a getaway for old friends. The house was very clean and had plenty of space for four of us to spread out. Jayson was very responsive and helpful and facilitated the perfect getaway. The quiet community is perfect for walking, and the hot tub and fire pit were cozy to come back to after our daytime adventures. We had a great time and would definitely stay again!

Although the owners reached out and refunded our cleaning fee, this place was filthy and in dire need of maintenance. The small refund did not make up for our overall experience.
For starters, the “private hot tub” has ZERO privacy. And I really do mean zero. It’s placed on the driveway in front of the former garage door, in full view of the neighbors next door and the main road. There is also two security cameras pointed at it, and if you do read all their fine print, it says the camera records every 15 seconds. Additionally, the hot tub cover was completely collapsed making it nearly impossible to remove and put back on.
The yard is fully overgrown, fire pit littered with garbage, old planter box falling apart in the center of the property. Slippery concrete that’s not been washed probably ever. There’s been no maintenance on this yard in a long, long time.
Multiple doors to closets busted off of their hinges and tossed aside, random air conditioning machines placed all over on the floor but connected to nothing. Heater on first floor never worked.
Dirt, hair and debris on every shelf of every cabinet in the bathrooms and kitchen. Pendant lights in kitchen full of dust, mold in the espresso machine that had no instructions. Empty hand soap bottles, empty Kirkland shower gel bottles, open and used Neutrogena makeup up remover packages in both bathrooms. This wasn’t left behind by last guest, this is what was set out for us to use! Food on all the pans and cookware, had to sterilize everything in the dishwasher prior to use. The dishwasher also falls out of the cabinet when you open the door or try to load it, it’s secured to nothing.
Upstairs bathroom toilet never stops running and will keep you up all night, downstairs bathroom sink doesn’t drain at all, the one shower has a curtain with at least two feet of scum and mold on the bottom.
Several lights didn’t work and the ones that did provided horrible prison-like lighting. The only wall sconce in the master bedroom was literally falling off. And don’t plan on having children on the second floor, the giant window has no screen and is a complete fall hazard. Very dangerous for kids.
No cleaning supplies, Tupperware, foil or any means of putting leftovers away. But if you do cook, be sure to wash the dishes first. Definitely not up to covid cleaning standards by any means, should that matter to you. We took photos of everything. Horrible.
This place could be really nice.
Hi Leah, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your recent stay at our property. We genuinely appreciate your input and want to address your concerns.
- Firstly, I'm glad to hear that the refund of the cleaning fee was much appreciated. We take guest satisfaction seriously, and we want to make sure your experience is as enjoyable as possible.
- We appreciate your feedback on the "private" hot tub. While it is situated about 70-80 feet from the road, surrounded by trees, and not easily visible, we apologize if you felt uncomfortable. As for the hot tub cover, it has concaved slightly, but it is not completely collapsed, and no other guests have reported difficulties using it in the past year.
- The maintenance of the yard is indeed meant to provide a natural, wooded ambiance. However, we'll examine the concrete to ensure it's not posing any safety risks. We appreciate your comments on the air conditioners and will make sure they are appropriately stored when not in use.
- Your comments about the cleanliness of the property are concerning, and I have had a thorough conversation with our cleaning partners to address these issues. We will be working closely with them to ensure the property is consistently up to the highest standards of cleanliness and that cleaning supplies are readily available.
We value your feedback and are committed to making the necessary improvements to enhance our guests' experiences. If you have any further concerns or suggestions, please feel free to reach out. Your satisfaction is our top priority.
Our group had 4 adults and 4 children (2-9). We enjoyed the quiet location, separate family room where kids could hang out (basketball game was big hit), record player, hot tub, pass to nearby Lake Cushion, and fire pit.
