• Beautiful view & cute cabin

  We enjoyed a few night springtime stay at this beautiful cabin! The view was wonderful, and the accommodations were very nicely decorated. Some things we would love to see improvement on before staying again: there were no washcloths available in the upstairs bathroom, and no garbage can available in the downstairs one. No tissues to be found in the entire space. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the pillows as well. We also found fingernail clippings in the sheets, which was problematic, but there was a washer and dryer on site which we utilized ourselves. For a winter time booking around 30, I would’ve hoped for a better or thicker comforter or blanket on the bed, but we were given just a top sheet and a very thin quilt. The directions for checkout asked us to strip the bed, which we did, however, after being charged a cleaning fee we don’t necessarily agree with that request from property managers, especially with the stairs to the loft where the bed is located being so steep and narrow to get the sheets etc downstairs.Other renters had commented in the book about how lovely the property managers had been with checking in, we did not receive any communication during our stay. The kitchen supplies needed some attention (dirty, beat up) and we did not find any dish soap. Overall or stay was adequate, made better by the sauna, and a large bathtub, and the lovely view. But for such a pricey property, I would hope for a little bit more attention to detail.

• First stay at Sweetheart Barn

  We've had the pleasure to stay at the sibling property -- The Splendid Splinter -- several times. This was the first time that a smaller group of us stayed at the Sweetheart Barn. Husband and I enjoyed the barn for one night alone before being joined by our teenage son. Hosts are so easy to work with: check-in/out a breeze; questions answered quickly. Great location: beautiful view and close to Putney/Brattleboro. House and barn lovely. Will be back!

  Claudia and Adrienne are the best hosts ever! The place is beyond perfection with all the attention to details. You felt the attention and love they have put in every corner of the property!
