When you’ve had enough of the hot and humid dog days of summer and yearn for cool nights “good sleeping weather” and a little reset this is the place to be. It was the perfect respite to take in all of the natural beauty that Vermont has to offer. We enjoyed the Whitcomb hike with gorgeous mountain views, paddle boarding on Miller Pond, taking in the picturesque property landscape and sourcing ingredients for home-cooked meals at local farm stands and bakeries. We can’t wait for our next visit!
The house is pristine and so comfortable and tastefully decorated. So much space! All the amenities you could want. It's a peaceful retreat in an idyllic setting (neighboring horse farm, babbling creek, gorgeous sunsets). There's so much to do nearby both in nature and in town. We saw glass blowing and hot air balloons and did an awesome whiskey tasting all on the same street. The kitchen is fully equipped for fun cooking in nights, but there are also plenty of unique local eateries nearby. From the country stores to the antiques and snowy trails, there's something for everyone in your group to enjoy!
I've returned several times, and it's particularly beautiful in the winter! Cozy inside with lovely decor, and wonderful views of snowy trees. A few inches fell while I was there and that added to the charm. The house is clean and well equipped, including kitchen and bathrooms. It's a quiet area but easy to reach whatever you might be interested in. Very peaceful and a gift to stay here.
Wonderful getaway in a clean and spacious home! Be ready to cozy up with a book on the comfortable furniture (and probably enjoy a nap).
There was ample space for two couples, plus our children, to spend a few days relaxing. We found plenty of natural beauty nearby — hiking trails, waterfalls, and farms — but enjoyed staying home most of all. We spent glorious hours sitting in the yard working on crafts, and watching birds by the peaceful brook.
The full modern kitchen met all our needs for cooking (and dinner outside at sunset was lovely). We will definitely be returning to this property for our next family retreat!
We stayed here in fall 2025. This is a gorgeous home with great space for families or groups. The décor and finishes are just stunning. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The location is quiet with a little brook running through the property, and convenient to a variety of Vermont attractions. Strafford is a small, charming, quintessential Vermont town.
