  • Beautiful and quiet view but the house could improve

Let me start by saying the location on the lake and having private dock access with kayaks were wonderful. That being said, the house itself was not the most clean. Upon arrival the owner was at the property still trying to clean up (45 mins past our check in time) and left his toothbrush at the kitchen sink. In addition, the water pressure was extremely low so only one person could shower at a time (there was 7 of us in total), and the sinks would often leak during our stay. We were told we couldn’t lean on the living room couch because it would break and the curtain rods on the main floor overlooking the lake would often fall if you tried to open them. The house looks great inside but you can tell the everything was made cheaply. This shouldn’t deter you from booking as long as you know what you’re getting into! We wish we knew more about the water pressure situation and overall cleanliness (my mom cleaned the whole house once we got there) which isn’t acceptable in my books but regardless our family had a blast.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Mareena, I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the location on the lake and having private dock access with kayaks! We want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
    - We use a cleaning service to have the home professionally cleaned before each guest's arrival. We wish you had reached out to the Guest Contact during your stay if there were any issues you needed to be addressed. We would have done everything we could to resolve them immediately so that you could enjoy the home.
    - I was at the home when you arrived to check in because property maintenance was completed that morning and took longer than expected and I was there to ensure that the home was clean after the maintenance team had left. I would have called you ahead of time to alert you but I was having cell phone issues. Since I was there when you arrived, I'm happy I could walk you through the home and show you the entire property.
    - Given the remote location of this property, water is supplied by a well and there can be intermittent pressure issues that we can't always control. I apologize for the inconvenience. We are exploring the possibility of augmenting the water pressure, but often water pressure is just not great in rural areas.
    - We recently checked and there are no water leaks in any of the sinks. If you were encountering a leak in every sink, you may not have been closing it properly, since we have not heard this particular complaint from any other guests. However, we wish you would have reached out during your stay so we could have quickly resolved your concerns.
    - I kindly asked you all not to sit on the sofa backs and to please be gentle with the furniture since I recently had to replace two sections of the sofa due to previous guests. We have also not received any feedback before about the curtains not working properly so we will take a closer look. I'm wondering how exactly the curtains may have fallen off during your stay.
    - While we do regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to share that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend. We are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience and your feedback is an important part of that process. We hope to host you again in the future!

Our family enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin on private Sunrise lake. We enjoyed floating on rafts, kayaking, dinners on the deck, and sitting around the fire pit at night. Three bedrooms with queen beds, and one bunk room accommodated our large family well. The host was very responsive when we had questions even on the Fourth of July!

  • Perfect for a group gathering

A weekend away at this property was just wonderful. Right on the lake, plenty of kayaks to get in the water, beautiful porch, and plenty of room to cook.Although there's limited cell phone service you won't regret booking this property. Even with rain all weekend we were able to pop up the umbrellas on the porch and enjoy every second

My family and I stayed here for Memorial Day weekend, 2023.

We were looking for a place near Lake George, and in our search, this popped up. It wasn't anywhere near there, but the hour drive wasn't too bad. Drove to Lake George and spent a day at the beach, site seeing and a boat ride.

We planned the weekend so we could spend the hottest day by the lake, kayaking and swimming. Those kayaks were the highlight of the trip! and the views... breathtaking.

The cabin is so well equipped that we were completely set.. Bath and beach towels supplied were a big plus AND toilet paper and paper towels too! So thankful for that.

We had a pretty chill getaway, so we did no cooking or grilling, except for the fried eggs and frozen waffles, but the kitchen is stocked with everything you might need and so well organized!

Overall, we were super happy with it.

    A few things to note:

The road to the cabin is super narrow. Is a singe lane road, so make sure you drive super slow, since you're sharing it with pedestrians and pets. Also, it is gravel/dirt, so you don't want to lift any unnecessary dust!

You're in the WOODS. You WILL SEE BUGS. Spiders and smaller critters were all over so be aware.

Cellular reception is POOR. So always make sure to map your destination before you get there and whenever heading out, BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE. Also, if you don't or forget to print the instructions, take a screen shot of the email they send with the code for the door. Trust me, it'll be your best friend.

The cabin looks bigger on the photo, but it's comfy and cozy. I think it's more suited for couples or a large family rather than a group or if you plan to join other families, it might be a bit crammed specially if you have small kids. We usually travel with 2 o 3 other families and although the cabin comfortably sleeps 10, I feel like 2 families might be a bit tight.

We had water back up issues in the bathroom downstairs, but did as the instructions said and fixed the issue as stated. So don't panic, make sure you READ the instructions to your group before disaster happens.

The nearest supermarket is about 15min. out, and they close at 9. So plan your route to include this stop whenever you're out of the house. We stopped there before we got to the cabin to buy essentials (milk, water, eggs, etc.) for at least that night and next day, and shop for more later.

We absolutely loved spending the weekend there and highly recommend.

  • What a great getaway with kayaks and a fire pit was lovely

Everything was great easy to check in and out the beds were not the best but idk what people would expect and the one down side was the dishwasher wasn't draining so we had to wash our own dishes again not a big deal and the owner sent a email to me the 1st night letting us know but we already figured that out over a real nice spot
