The nonny cottage had everything my husband and I needed for our off the grid fall trip to celebrate his birthday and our wedding anniversary. The cottage was close the the hiking trails we wanted to explore and not too far out we couldn't travel into town for a nice dinner celebration for his birthday, the Southern Inn in Lexington was superb. Thanks for the fabulous stay!

Lovely home with all the necessities. If seclusion, quiet and unplugged is your thing, them this is for you. There is no wifi or cable but there is a land line if you need to contact anyone. The weather was awesome for us and the fall foliage was beautiful. It's just a short drive to the Blueridge Parkway. We loved our stay and the dogs we brought with us loved it as well. Very relaxing!
We rented this cottage for a week while we were moving from Staunton. It was clean. Driving back and forth to our home in Staunton was too long, especially on the mountain roads. No cell service, no internet--we were told. But we didn't expect the front door handle to come off. For several days we couldn't lock the door--this was fixed quickly. The bed was too high for my wife to get on and off--she feared falling off when she slept. This was indeed a rustic, mountain top experience.

Bryan, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-The rural location of this property is part of its charm but, unfortunately, means that cell service can occasionally be slow
-We appreciate you reaching out when the door handle issue arose so we could quickly replace it
-While the 4 poster bed is more elevated than a normal bed, we do provide stairs for ease of access
-We use local professional photographers so the images accurately reflect our home, and guests can decide before booking if the accommodations meet their expectations
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We’d love the chance to provide you with a truly 5-star travel experience, so please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help the next time that you book a vacation rental.
As advertised. It was so great to be without Wi-Fi
