Was great, very comfortable and owner was more than helpful!!
From the owner: "Thanks, Tim. We appreciate your feedback and taking very good care of our property during your duck hunting trip with your family and friends. We hope to see you back next year."
My family has rented 10's of properties in the US and Europe over the past 20 years, and Bella Vista is in the top 3. If you are interested in a deeper exploration of this fascinating island, we highly recommend you stay here. The home was recently beautiful renovated and decorated, with pretty much every need met for in home meal preparation. I guarantee you will not need much else! We also highly recommend meal service offered, which will complete this amazing experience for you! P.S. the host was VERY responsive to my numerous questions, responding quickly and courteously!

From the owner: "Thank you, Pamela! We appreciate your kind words and for given us an opportunity to provide you and your family full service. We also appreciate the insights you shared during our talk. We look forward to your return!"
This was our second visit, but won't be our last. Every time we visit tangier island, we will be staying here. Ken is the best host that we've interacted with during our travels. The house is really nice and well-maintained. It is convenient to go to the beach and the center of town. We got one of the available dinners. It was fantastic. We will definitely do that again. If you are traveling to Tangier, choose this house.
From the Owner: "Thanks, Michael! We really appreciate your kind words and are very grateful for yours and Candace's return. We're equally thankful for your one-on-one feedback. We value your commitment to making us the best option when visiting the island and the Virginia and Maryland Eastern shore. We've left the light on for you"
There are times, albeit rare, that a visit is more than a visit. So it was on Tangier in August of 2024. Our “staying place” while there was Bella Vista, the refurbished home of our host’s growing-up time on Tangier, and we were mightily welcomed there. But the welcome began even before our arrival, as host Ken Parks spent time explaining all things Tangier to me, I who had never before visited: ferry access, what to bring, the catering and boating options, and more. Once on the island, we were greeted at the ferry and golf-carted to Bella Vista. The home is beautiful, and beautifully furnished—though we spent most of our time on the second floor veranda which expands the entire width of the home and looks west--to sunsets over the Chesapeake, over marshes and the small commuter runway. In the Welcome Book at the cottage, the hosts talk about their hope: that Bella Vista will provide an opportunity for us Mainlanders to learn about Tangier’s deep and waterman past. It did just that for us. We walked the island, overheard residents taking the time to not only greet one another but to ask—and listen—to how today’s life was. We read history markers, and visited the museum. But even more valuable for us: We heard from Ken and his family, which includes Stuart and Andy, what Tangier has been and is for them. Ken helped us see both Tangier and Smith Island from his boat; Andy educated us about crab scraping; and Stuart, among other things, provided us with the most delicious catered meals. In our two and half days on Tangier, we sank into the island—or maybe it sank into us. Bella Vista’s bookshelves are rich with Tangier history. Some of those books are now on our reading lists because we want to know even more. For us, Tangier is now one of those places that is a part of us, a place to which we must return.
From the owner: ''Thank you, Marilyn! My family and I appreciate your thoughtful and heartfelt feedback, and for letting us serve you with everything we have to offer. Your desire to learn about Tangier means a lot to us and the community! We're looking forward to your next visit!''
