We spent a week at this lovely spot overlooking the vineyard and the Virginia Mountains. It's utterly romantic and whimsical. There's fruit trees and bushes growing everywhere. We were given permission to pick the Blackberries, which were perfect. There's a pond with hilarious frogs we never saw but heard in the evening. Our dog got a kick out of that. You can tell how much care and love is given to the property. There's even a sweet cat who greeted us from time to time.
The home environment marries a rustic look with modern appliances. We had a delightful time cooking in the kitchen and dining at the large table where we could view all the beautiful, natural surroundings. As a little helpful guide- the freezer and dryer are around the side, we missed it at first! The building has large windows without blinds that emit tons of glorious natural light, and we still felt it was private. We do recommend some hard sole slippers for the glazed brick inlay flooring, especially if you're going to be walking all day like we were.
Mark was always available, kind, and thoughtful when we reached out. The power was momentarily out due to the storm, and he brought us coffee and jumped the generator. He showed us the yurts on the property, the garden where all the flavors for his wine is grown, and let us tour his tasting room. Needless to say, we bought a couple of bottles!
We are delighted to say that we will be returning for the bright ambiance and good company.

Hi Mary-March, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- Our listing reflects the layout of the home, though we’re sorry if you were caught off-guard. There are two other seating areas at our property, a loveseat at the bottom of the stairs and a small table with chairs near the front door to allow guests to enjoy the view.
- We use a professional cleaning crew to ensure that the home is cleaned and sanitized between guest stays. Our crew does a walk-through of the home before all guest arrivals and we’re confident that the home met our high cleanliness standards before your check-in and we personally inspected the property after the cleaning was completed and found no evidence of pests.
- There was a power outage on Sunday evening which was unfortunate and the storm was so severe that it knocked out the power to 10,000 homes in the New River Valley.
- We try our best to accommodate guests and provide a great environment, but sometimes external factors such as inclement weather are simply out of our control.
- While we regret our home was not up to your expectations, we’re happy to share that our most recent guests reported no issues.
- We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have a wonderful stay!
Great place
