  This home was exactly what we were looking for to spend some quality time away to celebrate our anniversary. (with our dog.) The house was spotless, and the host was exceptionally helpful and easy to reach. The closest grocery is about 25 minutes away, but the area is fun to explore, so we made one day out & about. We recommend Hague Winery (wonderful owner & unique wines), Garners Farm Market (Crab) & Murphy Seed Services (local gifts) as local spots to explore. We ate dinner at Angelo's (Montross) and Cole's Point Tavern (right on the Potomac) - get there early, they sold out of food on a Sunday night. (Live music). The patio, yard, and dock area are an added bonus. Be sure to stay in the bedroom facing the river for the most gorgeous sunrises!

• Amazing week at The Red House on the River

  Our first impression was the ease of just punching in the code, the lock slid open, and we were in! The home is impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and very well appointed. We absolutely loved waking up in the morning to the sunset over the river. 3 beach-themed bedrooms, large kitchen, family room, bathroom and dining room. And outside facing the river…..my absolute heaven! The host was very helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. We had such a great time that we saw that we could extend our stay for another night and we jumped on it! Like a previous reviewer stated, the only thing I could wish for is a ladder attached to the dock in order to easily get out of the water after swimming. But if that’s the only thing missing…oh well…can’t wait to book again! Hopefully soon!!!
