Amazing setting
5/5 Absolutely gorgeous setting. Being able to see and enjoy the York river throughout our stay was a highlight. We really were able to just step away and relax!
Lots of bed options although mattresses could use an update.
Kitchen is well stocked - just keep looking if you don’t see it at first :)

Family trip
5/5 This was the perfect location for our family. Beautiful spacious house with beach right on the river. Wish we had more time to relax and enjoy all the features.
Sally and her husband were very helpful allowing us early check-in and late checkout. Also providing information to get blue crabs which everyone enjoyed.
The beds in the twin bunk room were not so comfortable.

5/5 This was a great stay, especially for those with a larger family since there are many beds available in the house. As you can see in the pictures, there is a large amount of gathering space both indoors and outdoors. We counted seating for 20 outdoors, and it is as beautiful as the pictures show.
The home was fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay, even including some bug spray which is needed if you're gathering in the yard for any length of time. Since it's on the river, it's about a 15 minute drive to restaurants, grocery, shopping, etc.
The highlight of the home is the backyard, which overlooks the York river. Even when it's hot and humid at the back patio (Virginia in August), if you go down toward the river it feels at least 10 degrees cooler, with a constant breeze off the water. It's good to know that at this location on the river, it's largely saltwater and it experiences more tides than we expected. When we first arrived around 6pm and explored the private beach, we could walk down the steps from the dock onto the sand. Depending on the time of day, the bottom two steps from the dock are covered in water and most of the beach is under shallow water. Bring some swim shoes or sandals.
We also really enjoyed the paddleboard and kayaks that were provided. And on our last morning there, while kayaking, we we about 10-15 meters from a pod of dolphins! Pretty amazing.
In the cooler months, this place would be even better because we could enjoy the back patio even longer. Regardless, this was a great home!
Very nice house
5/5 The house and especially the outdoor areas were wonderful with plenty of room for our family. We especially enjoyed the beach and kayaks. The mattresses in the bunk room were not comfortable and the kitchen was too cluttered with leftover food from previous guests, but all in all, a very nice house!

Adorable lakeside vacation
5/5 The house was very clean and had so much space! There were a total of 9 people staying here, 4 adults, 3 teenagers, and two small children and everyone was very happy with our stay. The backyard, dock, lake, beach, and patio were immaculate and well kept. I will definitely look into this home if I take another trip up there again.
