A nicely decorated place on the edge of old Chincoteage
5/5 The place was nicely decorated, with ample space for two couples, and an easy way to downtown Chincoteague. The owner was communicative and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

Just what we needed!
5/5 The Sea Captain's Cottage was just what we needed (and more) for an extended weekend on Chincoteague Island. Location is ideal... walk to the coffee shops, restaurants, and of course just a short drive to the beach. The cottage was larger than we needed but very well priced for all it delivered. We enjoyed sitting out on the screened-in porch each morning for a cup of coffee before venturing out for the day and in the evenings sat outside on the deck for a glass of wine. We even walked out to the city pier to watch the rocket launch from Wallops Island. Such a fun, comfortable, relaxing stay!

3/5 The house was OK, plain but clean. We had some issues with the functionality of the place regarding where bathrooms were and how locks worked

Hi Ian, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
- We strive to provide our guests with a great guest experience so we were surprised to hear your feedback and want to take a moment to address your concerns.
- We provide clear instructions in our pre-stay email that is provided to all guests on how the locks work. Where the door handles are original victorian decorative door handles, all bedroom doors have a a hook and eye lock if our guests wish to lock the bedroom doors.
- We're sorry to hear you had some troubles locating the bathrooms, one is on the first floor and the other is located on the second floor.
- We pride ourselves on the funtionality of our home and have taken the time to think through every detail to provide a booklet for our guests with detailed instruction on how things work within the home for a great guest experience.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
