We really enjoyed our stay. This is the 4th time we have stayed here (1st time was in 2020). We always enjoy the beautiful view from the canal side porch and the sense of calm that it imparts.
This house and its peaceful location is the tonic that we need about once a year.
Prior to renting I asked about several things, mold, and additional things like bikes and fishing poles. I did not receive an answer. The living area in the back was very musty. There a quite a few cosmetic things that could be done as well, mold in the air conditioner, opened wine, the screen door is falling apart and is duct taped. I absolutely loved the location, we were close to everything. Could use some updates (clean mattress covers, beach chairs, towels, a recommended list) or at least some fishing rods and bikes. The home needs to be treated from mold and sealed better. Again we loved the location.

A great location for an active Chincoteague vacation. Close to town boat/kayak launch… pony swim lane.. fairgrounds.. and a short drive onto Assateague Island. House was clean and well stocked with vacation essentials.. don’t like a home personalized with knickknacks? Stay at a holiday inn… the AC was cold and the shower was hot! We had a great time!

Waaay over priced for what it is! Don’t be deceived. This property is an aging trailer house. The VBRO pics make it look well lit, bright, open, and clean. This is not the case. It’s dark, old, not remodeled, and original. There are several soft spots on the floor, the bathroom doors in the master bedroom have a bungee cord to hold them shut, the shower in the master is spungie and I would guess has a rotten floor under the tub unit. The shower liners have orange mold around the bottoms and haven’t been changed. The mattress covers were ripped and stained. The AC struggled to keep things cool. The fridge smelled of crab and fish and needed a deep clean. It needs an ant treatment as they were prolific. Overall cleanliness was upon entry was poor. No linens. None. Little details like dead batteries in the remote controls, dead or ailing plants outside, board games with pieces missing, and etc. These are huge things but don’t advertise them if they aren’t correct. The location is great and the canal and porches were quite nice, but some of the seat cushions were missing.Complete disappointment to say the least. Very misrepresented. I would have expected to pay half to a third of what they charged to spend a vacation in this old outdated trailer. I have no idea how the reviews for this property are so good… I hate being this negative and typically don’t leave reviews on anything I do or buy, but I don’t want other families to make this mistake

The location on a creek is lovely. Because of weather and the time of year, we didn't spend any time enjoying the porch overlooking the creek. One plus is they have actual cable tv on 3 tvs in the property, not just streaming, so we got live news.Stairs are necessary to access the property, since the foundation is raised to avoid flooding. Chincoteague is flat and at sea level, this is not a complaint. There were plenty of kitchen utensils, glassware and dishes. The house itself appears to be an old mobile home. It could use some repair and updating. The screen door to the porch doesn't latch and is held together with duct tape, and initial access to the property is through the master bedroom. Bathrooms are very dated, switch plates old and rusty.. Ceilings have some cracks and flakes. Everything did work properly, however, so old and dated really is tolerable, just not desirable. We were charged for damage protection, the condition of the property didn't warrant that. The two larger beds were reasonably comfortable, we didn't use the twins. Our only annoyance is the laundry and cleaning policy. We had to bring our own sheets and towels. What if we were flying across the country to get there? If you don't bring linens, they charge $25 to supply linens and then require that you do the laundry before you leave. There is not time to do all the laundry before you leave and still make your flight or have enough time for a long drive. So either way causes a problem. The cleaning instructions upon our departure were detailed and we felt excessive since we were still charged a cleaning fee and asked to tip the cleaners. Nothing against the cleaning crew, the place was as clean as it was possible to make it when we got there. The price was reasonable, but I would have rather paid more and had a property in better condition and not be nickeled and dimed over the sheets and towels.
