  Beautiful, bright , clean and peaceful property. We came to attend a wedding in nearby Scottsville. We were very comfortable and felt well taken care of. The home was immaculate. One of the best rentals we have ever stayed in.

  The owner is very helpful and communicative. We especially enjoyed the front porch in the morning. Great outdoor spaces!! Also loved the soaker tub and shower in the master bedroom.

  We appreciated finding a place that fit our family of adults and that was pet free to avoid worrying about allergic reactions.

  We highly recommend staying here and would rent again if we return to the area.

  The property provided everything we needed. We enjoyed spending time with our family members and the space was comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished. We had a great walk over to the retreat center nearby where we saw deer and a spectacular view of the James River. For adventure and groceries we went to nearby Scottsville where we enjoyed dining and shopping. The wedding was wonderful and the property was perfect to reconnect with family during our stay.

• Nature is beautiful

  I stayed at Yogi's Paradise after visiting family in neighboring towns. The house was perfect. Very comfortable and clean with everything you'd need in the kitchen. The trees are so beautiful! I was blown away by how beautiful the area is and all of the deer I saw. In the mornings I would sit by the big windows and watch deer eat the grass.

• Mixed Bag

  The property is as you see it. It's spacious, clean, modern, with great light and a beautiful view of the sunrise. It's a 30 minute walk to the river in one direction and Yogaville in the other. It's comfortable and really has all that you need for a lovely time.

  So, why the 3 stars? I was literally contacted at least a dozen times from the time I made the reservation until check in. There was no need for that.

  I slept in the room nearest the heat pump and it sounded like a vacuum cleaner was running. It kept waking me up.

  There are a list of rules by the front door. It's "don't do this, don't do that." "Noise" hours are between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. because the caretaker lives downstairs and they can hear you. You can hear them. I felt like a naughty teenager trying not to disturb mom.

  There are also cameras all over. I would have used the porch, but there was no privacy. It's invasive.

  So, lovely property, but the vibe was one of distrust. I felt overly controlled and fearful of making a wrong move. It wasn't restful or relaxing at all. I get that you want your place to be safe and well cared for, but all the cameras and rules feel over the top.

  - We want to clarify that we did not contact you a dozen times during your stay. Like with all our guests, we typically send a single email with an attached PDF containing important guest information as soon as we are notified of a booking. We apologize if there was any misunderstanding regarding communication.
  - We installed a six-foot folding metal gate in the closet to provide our guests with a secure space to hang their clothes and use the clothes hamper while also allowing us to safely store household supplies on the shelves. We apologize if this setup may have created any feelings of discomfort during your stay.
  - We are sorry that you found your sleep disturbed by unusual sounds and wish that you might have reported the problem as soon as you were experiencing loud mechanical noise. The HVAC that is outside and a floor below the main bedroom has been functioning normally, and the onsite host reported no unusual sounds.
  - The listing does mention the presence of three external security cameras so that our guests are fully informed before booking their stay.
