• Cleaning/Bug disaster....renters beware!

  We were so excited to have found a home close to family that looked so nice from the photos...however this house was a very big disappointment all the way around. I'll spare all the details, but the home was dirty and had mouse/bug traps in every room. Live bugs in the kitchen... There is a very clear bug problem. It was not cleaned properly and had not been thoroughly cleaned in quite some time. We did contact the owner about the cleaning, he sent a cleaner out who was able to rectify some of the issues but not all of them, a cleaning fee reimbursement was not even offered. After diving into reviews on other platforms it appears that cleanliness has been a problem...we would not stay here again.

  -We sent our cleaning crew twice to address your concerns and clean the specific areas you pointed out.
  -The property is located in a wooded area, and despite regular monthly cleaning and pest control, there is always a possibility of encountering bugs. We keep bug traps in each room to ensure our guests' safety and comfort.
  -We were not approached about a cleaning fee reimbursement until after the review was left, but we would have been happy to assist with that.
  We appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve and help this homeowner provide guests with the 5-star service they are known for. We hope to host you again soon!

• Nice country getaway

  Our family spent 3 nights at the Terrell Ranch House during the 3rd week of June, 2024. The property was close to DFW, but remote enough to feel like a true getaway. We had 14 family members show up, from grandparents to grandchildren and all had a great time.

  Positives:

  1. Nice clean, well stocked house with ample room for our group.

  2. Beautiful outdoor entertainment area with pool, kitchen, fire pit with seating, hammocks, furniture.

  3. Ample parking, lots of trees and privacy.

  4. Power to the pool pump went out one morning and owner was quick to send someone to fix.

  Negatives:

  1. Outdoor gas grill needs repairs or replacing. Some controls do not function properly and are not safe, so use at your own risk.

  2. There are 2 large screen TV's outside, but neither one worked for us. We reported to owner but nothing was done to fix the issue.

  3. The house is located in the country, so various varmints can be expected. But a visit by an exterminator might be in order.

  The area where the house is located sustained some damage from recent storms, so there are numerous downed or damaged trees around. However, most of the greenery nearest the house still looks good and didn't impact our enjoyment of the property.

  Overall, we were mostly satisfied with the property and would likely stay again. A few fixes would make things more desirable for the future.

• Beautiful oasis

  Our stay was wonderful. The house and the backyard were perfect. A couple of suggestions. They need more bath towels hand towels and wash cloths. Normally for a house that size that can hold that many people there would be plenty of towels. Towels need to be placed in each bathroom. This was not the case. We had to wash daily for 15 people.

  The kitchen needs kitchen towels and dish rags. There were two. Need more

  There was no can opener. Every kitchen should have a can opener

  Sheets in the bunk room and the upstairs beds had no top sheets. Fresh sheets should be put on each time someone checks out. We did message our contact and was told housekeeping would come and never did

  When we arrived the outside trash was full and never emptied. We emptied it but it was disgusting

  The hot tub has trouble but someone was sent out on Sunday to fix the problem

  Overall stay was good just a few minor thanksgiving.

• Establishment Barn Wedding

  Booked this for the weekend of my daughter's wedding at The Establishment Barn. It was 20 min away and perfect! The house is gorgeous! 15 adults slept beautifully. Hot tub was a fun outdoor spot! Huge fridge (plus one in garage) for leftover wedding food. Plenty of bathrooms! Wish we could've stayed longer!

• Thanksgiving Reunion 2022

  This property has amazing amenities for a family gathering. The outdoor spa/pool and kitchen area are amazing. There are a few fixes in the house that need to occur like bathrooms- door knobs, wobbly toilets, and drains. The beds were super comfortable. Beautiful home! Our family enjoyed our stay!
