A free public bus also stops right outside the front gate, offering easy access to superb attractions on the island, as well as Port Isabel. Practice your swing at one of the many golf courses in the area, or learn about local wildlife at the South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center. More family fun awaits at Beach Park At Isla Blanca.
Excellent location center island, close to grocer, cafes, coffee, ice cream and BEACH! Only one flight of stairs to perfect second floor condo with stunning view! 3 families enjoyed this great place for 7 days!
I know the last few years have been tough on rental properties and I understand seaside property issues. This stay exceeded that threshold. This is based on a 7 day stay on property. <br />
Overall property:<br />
The staff did as much as they could when possible to help you during your stay. Polite, quick, and professional addressing things in their control. <br />
Make sure you are aware of the parking policy. Parking is limited and the gate access did not always work. <br />
Elevators - the entire 11 floor building had one operating elevator. Tough times.<br />
Only one ramp from the building to the open area of the building. If you were on the wrong side of the building you have to go across the entire length to have ramp access. Tough times <br />
Beach set up - traditionally each rental would have 1 beach set up (2 chairs & umbrella) as part of the rental. Nope it is a daily fee. Want to book your stays entire time with set up , nope one day at a time. Be at the front desk each morning to request and pay for the setup. The entire building had 15 umbrellas and 30 chairs. correct 100+ units and that's the set up count. I was unable to rent daily setups as they would run out of sets. WHY, because they rented them to guests who had friends visiting and requested almost all of them. BTW the attendants do not know how to align the setups on the beach sorry. Lastly 1/2 the chairs did not have leg rests and were in need of repair. <br />
The unit: <br />
I am not sure if the units are privately owned or corp. ownership. Ours appeared to be corp. owned. ZERO ownership vibe and no personal items at all in unit. <br />
Water pressure was no existent. kitchen sink and 2 of the 3 bathrooms dribbled water, I was on the 2nd floor, cant imagine higher up floors. <br />
Dishwasher sounded like a garbage disposal was running the entire time and the door would hit the floor when opened causing the lower cage to roll out. <br />
Cookware - 1 plastic bowl, 0 glass or casserole cookware, 12 glasses, lots of pots and pans, enough silverware for 12, and 1 5x5 cutting board. Tough times if you like to cook during the stay. Tables and chairs were hotel quality in good repair. <br />
A/C worked great, beds were good, rooms were clean and TV had reception and included WIFI. <br />
Unit did have working washer and dryer - nice. The unit had enough bath towels for each bathroom. <br />

So if you are looking for a 5, 4 or 3 star resort level experience you will be disappointed. <br />
If you are looking for a place to take the family for a beach getaway this is it. Every unit is oceanfront which is a BIG plus. Patio had several lounge chairs and a small dinner table which allowed mornings and evening enjoyment. <br />
As I stated in the beginning I know it has been a few tough years but don't charge resort level fees and provide subpar facilities. <br />
Unfortunately it will be my families last stay at a Suntide property. Hope this helped you understand the 3 stars. <br />
2 years ago this condo was a 5 star, this year loosing one star because it was not that clean - dirty (not washed properly) glasses and dishes, dishwasher not working. Overall, has a great ocean view (from living room and kitchen), easy access to the beach and parking lot.
The condo itself is very nice. The mattresses are comfortable and the linens were great. The flooring looks very nice but got slippery easily. We had the doors opened to air out the condo (see next comment about why this was necessary) - the outside air mixed with the cool AC indoors instantly created a layer of wetness throughout the floor of the condo and the tiled floor got slick. We were airing out the condo bc the smoke alarms went off, TWICE while cooking, and we were doing everything we could to get it to stop. The system is extremely sensitive, set off the alarm in our room and then the entire property. We were told that we would be charged an $80 fee for each instance since the fire department had to come. Based on the reactions of the front desk this is something that happens regularly, which was frustrating considering the smoke alarm had been taken off the wall in the condo of our family staying there, and they cooked excessively each day they were there.. For our two instances, the 1st night we were cooking steaks (minimal smoke, but nothing too crazy) and the 2nd time was sauteeing vegetables during breakfast, with no smoke in the room present. The only other minor inconvenience is the location of the unit - the bedrooms facing the hall were pretty noisy at night, not sure if it was bc of the location close to the elevator or sound rising from the open space on the ground floor below near the parking lot. Overall this is a great unit and we would rent it again.
the mattresses were nice, and the view was nice. It was also nice that we were on the second floor since there was only one working elevator for much of the time.
