Perfect Retreat
5/5 We had such an amazing stay here! This house was absolutely perfect for our family. It was private, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful scenery, making it the perfect place to relax after long days of traveling.
The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, which made cooking meals so easy. The home was also wonderful for kids, giving our family plenty of space to spread out and feel comfortable.
My favorite part of our stay was spending each morning on the porch with a cup of tea while watching the neighboring cows wander over to say hello. It was such a peaceful, unique experience and quickly became my favorite part of each day.
The hosts have truly thought of everything to make guests feel at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, and we would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend!
Quiet escape
5/5 We booked The Hideaway for our small group gathering over the 4th of July, and it was exactly the quiet escape we were hoping for. The house has such a warm, easygoing character, with great porches for sitting outside together and plenty of room to spread out. The history of the home and what it now offers guests is a wonderful story the owners should be proud of sharing.
We spent our days lounging in the cowboy tank, a perfect way to cool off on a hot day, and our evenings unwinding and playing dominoes in the dining room. Schulenburg was the perfect distance to get away from the busy city. Would happily book again for another low-key getaway.

5/5 We enjoyed the Hideaway so much! It is a precious house. We took my mom and her sisters to see the Painted Churches. This house added joy to our experience. We loved reading the history on the house, enjoyed time visiting on the porches and saw wildlife (deer, fox). Our contact, Sarah, was very helpful and we appreciate her kindness and her time answering all my questions while planning our quick trip. Everything was great!
