• Sargent stay

  Rental was just as described. The host reached out before hand and gave lots of useful advice as what to do during our stay. Would stay here again when in the area.

  Ok, so the tale of 2 stories!!

  Reserved months in advance. Lucky us, TS Alberto moved in the night we got there. Kinda puts a damper on things but only if you let it. During the storm we hung out downstairs in the comfortable AC closed in lounge with big screen, refrigerator, dining table, bathroom, couches! Had poles and crab traps in the whole time. Not much luck with the fish during the storm but the blue crabs were going crazy! We caught over 30 crabs with about 15 of them being some BIG guys! Stayed downstairs all day crabbing, watching movies and playing board games to retire upstairs at night n get some rest. Beds are great. One bed was so soft, I felt bad for hogging it to myself so let my daughter have it the last half of the trip! Everything you need, it has! Fully stocked with utensils, Spices (so many spices) all condiments, food to get you started, and even some ice cold beer in the fridge! Never rented a place with so much!

  When the storm passed, the nearby beach took a beating and was closed as it was unpassable but we went a short distance to Matagorda beach and had a heck of a day in the sun! Put the poles back in the water and the fish started rolling in. Catfish, black drum, croakers and even a trout. Left with about 20 lbs of fish and 15 crabs we froze. The last night, thousands of bait fish, shrimp and crabs were just swimming around the pier begging to be caught. Got another 7 or so big crabs, about 10 lbs of bait to bring home and 10 lbs of bait for the owners! I've never seen so many fish and crabs in 41 years. I originally rented it for our jetski which didn't work out well but this was one of the funnest trips for us in a long time!!! Even if there was a couple days during the storm the wind was so strong you could barely walk in it or open the doors lol!!!!

  The owners are some of the friendliest owners I've ever met (through phone) and made every attempt to make sure we had anything and everything we wanted or needed! So cool I left them a 12 pack of ice cold beer for their efforts!

  Having your own personal boat ramp and pier can't be beat!

  Long story short, we will positively be back numerous times in the future! May even ride the jetski next time! 😉

  If you're looking for a place that has it all with no hassle, you've found it!

  This property is not what we thought. It is much older and smells like it. I thought for the money it would be somewhat nicer. It is a canal home. That was the only postive. All the outside table and chairs are rusted. The down stairs smells like moth balls to the point of being intrusive. The bed was comfortable and the back deck off the bedrooms is pretty cool. The air does blow cold. We would look for something else in the future for sure!!
