  • Disappointment with a great view

When we rented this cabin I told them we were coming for the big bike rally that was going on that weekend, and when we arrived the “host” walked down to check us out and the first words he said was “oh god, not a bunch of motorcycle people”! Then he proceeded to tell us he was a cop for 30 years, we asked where he was good with us parking our small trailers we brought our bikes in on and he was upset that we wanted to park our trailers on his land where an open spot on the cedar trees were because “eventually they’re going to make a wedding venue there someday”, the spot we pointed out was well over 200’ from anything on there but don’t make a mess, then turned around and left! All in a very disrespectful tone that made us all feel like we weren’t welcome and that he didn’t want us there! Luckily we didn’t see him any more over the weekend other than when they came in to “check out the place” while we were out. When checking out the place we were amazed at the view! It does have a Great View from the back yard and patio!! It’s a beautiful view across a huge valley with big hills in the distance!! The view is by far the best part of this location!!We sat outside on the “covered” back porch the next morning to enjoy the view and there was a light rain and light fog rolling in and out but had to leave it because the roof leaked on us and as much as we moved around couldn’t find a dry spot to sit that we weren’t being dripped on! Later that day and the next when it was dry we did enjoy the view at that time and it’s a beautiful view! The shower was good, wish there was one in both bathrooms though, the upstairs bath is just a big bathtub and very inconvenient to try and get cleaned up for several people with one shower. The upstairs tub has a windows it so you can enjoy the view. Very few plug ins in this house, and if in the cooler weather like ours was it’s either charge your phone or plug the heater in. There’s 7-8 oil based radiator style heaters for you to use if you can find an outlet or extension cord to use. All in all if you want a place with a great view and aren’t concerned about the other conveniences then you’ll love this location!! As we’ve been lucky enough to have seen the great view we will not be returning to this location.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Chris, we connected with the owner to hear their feedback, and would like to share the following:
-While we were not informed about any upcoming bike rally ahead of time, we did have a negative experience with a large group from a previous rally. We wish to clarify that the statement "Oh my God, not a bunch of motorcycle people" was never uttered by us. Furthermore, as we did not engage in this conversation with you, the claims made are purely hearsay.
-The trailers brought to the property were too large to fit in our driveway. We assisted with parking on our grass, which we are landscaping for a wedding venue. Additionally, the parking is not two hundred feet away from amenities. It is approximately thirty feet from the wedding deck and less than sixty feet from the house.
-The back porch is not covered; it is a pergola, completely open to the elements.
-We never advertised two showers. We encourage guests to thoroughly review all details in the listing to ensure their expectations are met.
-There are sixteen outlets downstairs and sufficient extension cords provided for heaters, ensuring guests never have to choose between heating and charging their devices.
-The assertion that we checked out the property while the guests were absent is false and constitutes a serious allegation. We wish to emphasize that we have outdoor cameras in place to substantiate that no unauthorized individuals entered the property.
Maintaining a perfect 5.0 rating, it's notable that our host consistently stands out in every review for their exceptional hospitality, helpfulness, and friendliness.
